Let these sayings sink down into your ears: for the Son of man shall be delivered into the hands of men.
Lest ye should say, We have found out wisdom: God thrusteth him down, not man.

Pilate answered, Am I a Jew? Thine own nation and the chief priests have delivered thee unto me: what hast thou done?

And to them it was given that they should not kill them, but that they should be tormented five months: and their torment {was} as the torment of a scorpion, when he striketh a man.
