In that ye have brought {into my sanctuary} strangers, uncircumcised in heart, and uncircumcised in flesh, to be in my sanctuary, to pollute it, {even} my house, when ye offer my bread, the fat and the blood, and they have broken my covenant because of all your abominations. {strangers: Heb. children of a stranger}
Ye stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always resist the Holy Ghost: as your fathers {did}, so {do} ye.

And when he was in affliction, he besought the LORD his God, and humbled himself greatly before the God of his fathers,
And the LORD thy God will circumcise thine heart, and the heart of thy seed, to love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, that thou mayest live.

O LORD God of Israel, thou {art} righteous: for we remain yet escaped, as {it is} this day: behold, we {are} before thee in our trespasses: for we cannot stand before thee because of this.

Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:
And Moses spake before the LORD, saying, Behold, the children of Israel have not hearkened unto me; how then shall Pharaoh hear me, who {am} of uncircumcised lips?
Surely after that I was turned, I repented; and after that I was instructed, I smote upon {my} thigh: I was ashamed, yea, even confounded, because I did bear the reproach of my youth.
Thou shalt die the deaths of the uncircumcised by the hand of strangers: for I have spoken {it}, saith the Lord GOD.

Surely it is meet to be said unto God, I have borne {chastisement}, I will not offend {any more}:
I will bear the indignation of the LORD, because I have sinned against him, until he plead my cause, and execute judgment for me: he will bring me forth to the light, {and} I shall behold his righteousness.
Nevertheless divers of Asher and Manasseh and of Zebulun humbled themselves, and came to Jerusalem.
And when the LORD saw that they humbled themselves, the word of the LORD came to Shemaiah, saying, They have humbled themselves; {therefore} I will not destroy them, but I will grant them some deliverance; and my wrath shall not be poured out upon Jerusalem by the hand of Shishak. {some: or, a little while}
