When they heard these things, they were cut to the heart, and they gnashed on him with {their} teeth.
Now when they heard {this}, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men {and} brethren, what shall we do?
And all they in the synagogue, when they heard these things, were filled with wrath,
Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake.
They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service.
And the brother shall deliver up the brother to death, and the father the child: and the children shall rise up against {their} parents, and cause them to be put to death.
It is enough for the disciple that he be as his master, and the servant as his lord. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more {shall they call} them of his household? {Beelzebub: Gr. Beelzebul}
The wicked plotteth against the just, and gnasheth upon him with his teeth. {plotteth: or, practiseth}
That the blood of all the prophets, which was shed from the foundation of the world, may be required of this generation;
But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell.

Hide me from the secret counsel of the wicked; from the insurrection of the workers of iniquity:
The wicked watcheth the righteous, and seeketh to slay him.
And after that many days were fulfilled, the Jews took counsel to kill him:
Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.
And they were filled with madness; and communed one with another what they might do to Jesus.
And he went into the temple, and began to cast out them that sold therein, and them that bought;
For the word of God {is} quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and {is} a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

And when they were assembled with the elders, and had taken counsel, they gave large money unto the soldiers,

But he that did his neighbour wrong thrust him away, saying, Who made thee a ruler and a judge over us?
Now it came to pass, when Jeremiah had made an end of speaking all that the LORD had commanded {him} to speak unto all the people, that the priests and the prophets and all the people took him, saying, Thou shalt surely die.

Thine arrows {are} sharp in the heart of the king's enemies; {whereby} the people fall under thee.
Now when they heard {this}, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men {and} brethren, what shall we do?
For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things.
