Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong.
At that time will I bring you {again}, even in the time that I gather you: for I will make you a name and a praise among all people of the earth, when I turn back your captivity before your eyes, saith the LORD.
And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:
Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Let your hands be strong, ye that hear in these days these words by the mouth of the prophets, which {were} in the day {that} the foundation of the house of the LORD of hosts was laid, that the temple might be built.
His name shall endure for ever: his name shall be continued as long as the sun: and {men} shall be blessed in him: all nations shall call him blessed. {endure: Heb. be} {his name shall be...: Heb. shall be as a son to continue his father's name for ever}
So it shall be a reproach and a taunt, an instruction and an astonishment unto the nations that {are} round about thee, when I shall execute judgments in thee in anger and in fury and in furious rebukes. I the LORD have spoken {it}.
And all the people that {were} in the gate, and the elders, said, {We are} witnesses. The LORD make the woman that is come into thine house like Rachel and like Leah, which two did build the house of Israel: and do thou worthily in Ephratah, and be famous in Bethlehem: {do thou...: or, get thee riches, or, power} {be famous: Heb. proclaim thy name}
There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.
And I will strengthen the house of Judah, and I will save the house of Joseph, and I will bring them again to place them; for I have mercy upon them: and they shall be as though I had not cast them off: for I {am} the LORD their God, and will hear them.
And I will persecute them with the sword, with the famine, and with the pestilence, and will deliver them to be removed to all the kingdoms of the earth, to be a curse, and an astonishment, and an hissing, and a reproach, among all the nations whither I have driven them: {to be a curse: Heb. for a curse}
Strengthen ye the weak hands, and confirm the feeble knees.
Yea, all Israel have transgressed thy law, even by departing, that they might not obey thy voice; therefore the curse is poured upon us, and the oath that {is} written in the law of Moses the servant of God, because we have sinned against him.
And I will deliver them to be removed into all the kingdoms of the earth for {their} hurt, {to be} a reproach and a proverb, a taunt and a curse, in all places whither I shall drive them. {to be removed: Heb. for removing, or, vexation}
In that day shall Israel be the third with Egypt and with Assyria, {even} a blessing in the midst of the land:
Thou makest us a reproach to our neighbours, a scorn and a derision to them that are round about us.
And I will make thy seed to multiply as the stars of heaven, and will give unto thy seed all these countries; and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed;
Is the seed yet in the barn? yea, as yet the vine, and the fig tree, and the pomegranate, and the olive tree, hath not brought forth: from this day will I bless {you}.
For thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; As mine anger and my fury hath been poured forth upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem; so shall my fury be poured forth upon you, when ye shall enter into Egypt: and ye shall be an execration, and an astonishment, and a curse, and a reproach; and ye shall see this place no more.
Thus saith the LORD of hosts; {It shall} yet {come to pass}, that there shall come people, and the inhabitants of many cities:
We are become a reproach to our neighbours, a scorn and derision to them that are round about us.
And ye shall leave your name for a curse unto my chosen: for the Lord GOD shall slay thee, and call his servants by another name:
For the voice of him that reproacheth and blasphemeth; by reason of the enemy and avenger.
Then will I pluck them up by the roots out of my land which I have given them; and this house, which I have sanctified for my name, will I cast out of my sight, and will make it {to be} a proverb and a byword among all nations.
All that pass by clap {their} hands at thee; they hiss and wag their head at the daughter of Jerusalem, {saying, Is} this the city that {men} call The perfection of beauty, The joy of the whole earth? {by: Heb. by the way}
Fear thou not; for I {am} with thee: be not dismayed; for I {am} thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
And thou shalt become an astonishment, a proverb, and a byword, among all nations whither the LORD shall lead thee.
Then he said unto me, Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel: behold, they say, Our bones are dried, and our hope is lost: we are cut off for our parts.
Then will I cut off Israel out of the land which I have given them; and this house, which I have hallowed for my name, will I cast out of my sight; and Israel shall be a proverb and a byword among all people:
So that the LORD could no longer bear, because of the evil of your doings, {and} because of the abominations which ye have committed; therefore is your land a desolation, and an astonishment, and a curse, without an inhabitant, as at this day.
And I said unto the angel that talked with me, What {be} these? And he answered me, These {are} the horns which have scattered Judah, Israel, and Jerusalem.
Therefore the LORD was very angry with Israel, and removed them out of his sight: there was none left but the tribe of Judah only.
For the children of Israel and the children of Judah have only done evil before me from their youth: for the children of Israel have only provoked me to anger with the work of their hands, saith the LORD.
And I will take the remnant of Judah, that have set their faces to go into the land of Egypt to sojourn there, and they shall all be consumed, {and} fall in the land of Egypt; they shall {even} be consumed by the sword {and} by the famine: they shall die, from the least even unto the greatest, by the sword and by the famine: and they shall be an execration, {and} an astonishment, and a curse, and a reproach.
{To wit}, Jerusalem, and the cities of Judah, and the kings thereof, and the princes thereof, to make them a desolation, an astonishment, an hissing, and a curse; as {it is} this day;
They cried unto them, Depart ye; {it is} unclean; depart, depart, touch not: when they fled away and wandered, they said among the heathen, They shall no more sojourn {there}. {it...: or, ye polluted}
Then will I make this house like Shiloh, and will make this city a curse to all the nations of the earth.
That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
When I have bent Judah for me, filled the bow with Ephraim, and raised up thy sons, O Zion, against thy sons, O Greece, and made thee as the sword of a mighty man.
And the remnant of Jacob shall be in the midst of many people as a dew from the LORD, as the showers upon the grass, that tarrieth not for man, nor waiteth for the sons of men.
{And that} the whole land thereof {is} brimstone, and salt, {and} burning, {that} it is not sown, nor beareth, nor any grass groweth therein, like the overthrow of Sodom, and Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboim, which the LORD overthrew in his anger, and in his wrath:
And he shall snatch on the right hand, and be hungry; and he shall eat on the left hand, and they shall not be satisfied: they shall eat every man the flesh of his own arm: {snatch: Heb cut}
Considerest thou not what this people have spoken, saying, The two families which the LORD hath chosen, he hath even cast them off? thus they have despised my people, that they should be no more a nation before them.
Moreover, thou son of man, take thee one stick, and write upon it, For Judah, and for the children of Israel his companions: then take another stick, and write upon it, For Joseph, the stick of Ephraim, and {for} all the house of Israel his companions:
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong.
Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he {it is} that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.
So again have I thought in these days to do well unto Jerusalem and to the house of Judah: fear ye not.
And I will make them and the places round about my hill a blessing; and I will cause the shower to come down in his season; there shall be showers of blessing.
{According to} the word that I covenanted with you when ye came out of Egypt, so my spirit remaineth among you: fear ye not.
He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God;

And when he hath made her to drink the water, then it shall come to pass, {that}, if she be defiled, and have done trespass against her husband, that the water that causeth the curse shall enter into her, {and become} bitter, and her belly shall swell, and her thigh shall rot: and the woman shall be a curse among her people.
The LORD hath taken away thy judgments, he hath cast out thine enemy: the king of Israel, {even} the LORD, {is} in the midst of thee: thou shalt not see evil any more.
Therefore I have profaned the princes of the sanctuary, and have given Jacob to the curse, and Israel to reproaches. {princes...: or, holy princes}
And their seed shall be known among the Gentiles, and their offspring among the people: all that see them shall acknowledge them, that they {are} the seed {which} the LORD hath blessed.
