And when they heard {it}, they glorified the Lord, and said unto him, Thou seest, brother, how many thousands of Jews there are which believe; and they are all zealous of the law:
But Israel, which followed after the law of righteousness, hath not attained to the law of righteousness.
And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and {in} all judgment; {judgment: or, sense}
For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.
Also, {that} the soul {be} without knowledge, {it is} not good; and he that hasteth with {his} feet sinneth.
Concerning zeal, persecuting the church; touching the righteousness which is in the law, blameless.
In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
And profited in the Jews' religion above many my equals in mine own nation, being more exceedingly zealous of the traditions of my fathers. {equals: Gr. equals in years}
And he said, Come with me, and see my zeal for the LORD. So they made him ride in his chariot.
I am verily a man {which am} a Jew, born in Tarsus, {a city} in Cilicia, yet brought up in this city at the feet of Gamaliel, {and} taught according to the perfect manner of the law of the fathers, and was zealous toward God, as ye all are this day.
I verily thought with myself, that I ought to do many things contrary to the name of Jesus of Nazareth.
Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge? who eat up my people {as} they eat bread, and call not upon the LORD.

They zealously affect you, {but} not well; yea, they would exclude you, that ye might affect them. {exclude you: or, exclude us}

And the ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation, because that Jesus had healed on the sabbath day, and said unto the people, There are six days in which men ought to work: in them therefore come and be healed, and not on the sabbath day.
And he said, All these have I kept from my youth up.
Then asked they him, What man is that which said unto thee, Take up thy bed, and walk?
Then again called they the man that was blind, and said unto him, Give God the praise: we know that this man is a sinner.

And when they urged him till he was ashamed, he said, Send. They sent therefore fifty men; and they sought three days, but found him not.
And the king called the Gibeonites, and said unto them; (now the Gibeonites {were} not of the children of Israel, but of the remnant of the Amorites; and the children of Israel had sworn unto them: and Saul sought to slay them in his zeal to the children of Israel and Judah.)
Now the men of Israel had sworn in Mizpeh, saying, There shall not any of us give his daughter unto Benjamin to wife.
