And the men of Israel were distressed that day: for Saul had adjured the people, saying, Cursed {be} the man that eateth {any} food until evening, that I may be avenged on mine enemies. So none of the people tasted {any} food.

And Joshua adjured {them} at that time, saying, Cursed {be} the man before the LORD, that riseth up and buildeth this city Jericho: he shall lay the foundation thereof in his firstborn, and in his youngest {son} shall he set up the gates of it.
For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge.

And he said unto his mother, The eleven hundred {shekels} of silver that were taken from thee, about which thou cursedst, and spakest of also in mine ears, behold, the silver {is} with me; I took it. And his mother said, Blessed {be thou} of the LORD, my son.

Or if a soul swear, pronouncing with {his} lips to do evil, or to do good, whatsoever {it be} that a man shall pronounce with an oath, and it be hid from him; when he knoweth {of it}, then he shall be guilty in one of these.
And the king was sorry: nevertheless for the oath's sake, and them which sat with him at meat, he commanded {it} to be given {her}.
That which is gone out of thy lips thou shalt keep and perform; {even} a freewill offering, according as thou hast vowed unto the LORD thy God, which thou hast promised with thy mouth.
Notwithstanding no devoted thing, that a man shall devote unto the LORD of all that he hath, {both} of man and beast, and of the field of his possession, shall be sold or redeemed: every devoted thing {is} most holy unto the LORD.
A fool's mouth {is} his destruction, and his lips {are} the snare of his soul.
