Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad; let the sea roar, and the fulness thereof. {the fulness...: or, all it containeth}
[To the chief Musician upon Shoshannim, {A Psalm} of David.] Save me, O God; for the waters are come in unto {my} soul.
Then they had swallowed us up quick, when their wrath was kindled against us:
For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap {their} hands.
The sorrows of death compassed me, and the floods of ungodly men made me afraid. {ungodly men: Heb. Belial}
Woe to the multitude of many people, {which} make a noise like the noise of the seas; and to the rushing of nations, {that} make a rushing like the rushing of mighty waters! {multitude: or, noise} {mighty: or, many}

Who {is} this {that} cometh up as a flood, whose waters are moved as the rivers?
And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues.
And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood.
For thou hadst cast me into the deep, in the midst of the seas; and the floods compassed me about: all thy billows and thy waves passed over me. {midst: Heb. heart}
Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? {rage: or, tumultuously assemble} {imagine: Heb. meditate}
Deliver me out of the mire, and let me not sink: let me be delivered from them that hate me, and out of the deep waters.
For he commandeth, and raiseth the stormy wind, which lifteth up the waves thereof. {raiseth: Heb. maketh to stand}
Who by the mouth of thy servant David hast said, Why did the heathen rage, and the people imagine vain things?
Thou rulest the raging of the sea: when the waves thereof arise, thou stillest them.
{Though} the waters thereof roar {and} be troubled, {though} the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah.
The voice of the LORD {is} upon the waters: the God of glory thundereth: the LORD {is} upon many waters. {many: or, great}
And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;
And he went up unto them into the ship; and the wind ceased: and they were sore amazed in themselves beyond measure, and wondered.
He sent from above, he took me; he drew me out of many waters; {many: or, great}
Fear ye not me? saith the LORD: will ye not tremble at my presence, which have placed the sand {for} the bound of the sea by a perpetual decree, that it cannot pass it: and though the waves thereof toss themselves, yet can they not prevail; though they roar, yet can they not pass over it?

So they took up Jonah, and cast him forth into the sea: and the sea ceased from her raging. {ceased: Heb. stood}

Because the LORD hath spoiled Babylon, and destroyed out of her the great voice; when her waves do roar like great waters, a noise of their voice is uttered:
And the Lord GOD of hosts {is} he that toucheth the land, and it shall melt, and all that dwell therein shall mourn: and it shall rise up wholly like a flood; and shall be drowned, as {by} the flood of Egypt.
Then the proud waters had gone over our soul.
For, lo, thine enemies make a tumult: and they that hate thee have lifted up the head.
And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm.

He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock.
Raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness for ever.
He shall pour the water out of his buckets, and his seed {shall be} in many waters, and his king shall be higher than Agag, and his kingdom shall be exalted.
