[To the chief Musician upon Shoshannim, {A Psalm} of David.] Save me, O God; for the waters are come in unto {my} soul.

Deliver me out of the mire, and let me not sink: let me be delivered from them that hate me, and out of the deep waters.
When thou passest through the waters, I {will be} with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.
Waters flowed over mine head; {then} I said, I am cut off.
The sorrows of death compassed me, and the floods of ungodly men made me afraid. {ungodly men: Heb. Belial}
For this shall every one that is godly pray unto thee in a time when thou mayest be found: surely in the floods of great waters they shall not come nigh unto him. {when...: Heb. of finding}
And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues.
And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood.

For thou hadst cast me into the deep, in the midst of the seas; and the floods compassed me about: all thy billows and thy waves passed over me. {midst: Heb. heart}
Deep calleth unto deep at the noise of thy waterspouts: all thy waves and thy billows are gone over me.
[To the chief Musician upon Shoshannim, for the sons of Korah, Maschil, A Song of loves.] My heart is inditing a good matter: I speak of the things which I have made touching the king: my tongue {is} the pen of a ready writer. {Maschil: or, of instruction} {is inditing: Heb. boileth, or, bubbleth up}
Judgment also will I lay to the line, and righteousness to the plummet: and the hail shall sweep away the refuge of lies, and the waters shall overflow the hiding place.
Or darkness, {that} thou canst not see; and abundance of waters cover thee.

Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared; {in that...: or, for his piety}
If thou hast run with the footmen, and they have wearied thee, then how canst thou contend with horses? and {if} in the land of peace, {wherein} thou trustedst, {they wearied thee}, then how wilt thou do in the swelling of Jordan?
The floods have lifted up, O LORD, the floods have lifted up their voice; the floods lift up their waves.
But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me. {boisterous: or, strong}

Then he took {unto him} the twelve, and said unto them, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem, and all things that are written by the prophets concerning the Son of man shall be accomplished.
For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
Or darkness, {that} thou canst not see; and abundance of waters cover thee.
Send thine hand from above; rid me, and deliver me out of great waters, from the hand of strange children; {hand from: Heb. hands from}
And he answered and told them, Elias verily cometh first, and restoreth all things; and how it is written of the Son of man, that he must suffer many things, and be set at nought.

Now is my soul troubled; and what shall I say? Father, save me from this hour: but for this cause came I unto this hour.
In that same hour said Jesus to the multitudes, Are ye come out as against a thief with swords and staves for to take me? I sat daily with you teaching in the temple, and ye laid no hold on me.
Save now, I beseech thee, O LORD: O LORD, I beseech thee, send now prosperity.

Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory?
And truly the Son of man goeth, as it was determined: but woe unto that man by whom he is betrayed!
They came round about me daily like water; they compassed me about together. {daily: or, all the day}
And they came to him, and awoke him, saying, Master, master, we perish. Then he arose, and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water: and they ceased, and there was a calm.
And he came and found them asleep again: for their eyes were heavy.
Be not far from me; for trouble {is} near; for {there is} none to help. {none...: Heb. not a helper}
And the priest shall bring it unto the altar, and wring off his head, and burn {it} on the altar; and the blood thereof shall be wrung out at the side of the altar: {wring...: or, pinch off the head with the nail}
But if he be not able to bring two turtledoves, or two young pigeons, then he that sinned shall bring for his offering the tenth part of an ephah of fine flour for a sin offering; he shall put no oil upon it, neither shall he put {any} frankincense thereon: for it {is} a sin offering.

Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall be betrayed unto the chief priests and unto the scribes, and they shall condemn him to death,
The Son of man goeth as it is written of him: but woe unto that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! it had been good for that man if he had not been born.
The Son of man indeed goeth, as it is written of him: but woe to that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! good were it for that man if he had never been born.
And he taketh with him Peter and James and John, and began to be sore amazed, and to be very heavy;
Saying, The Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be slain, and be raised the third day.
But those things, which God before had shewed by the mouth of all his prophets, that Christ should suffer, he hath so fulfilled.
Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow.
Then cometh Jesus with them unto a place called Gethsemane, and saith unto the disciples, Sit ye here, while I go and pray yonder.
