And Satan stood up against Israel, and provoked David to number Israel.

Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already; and overthrow the faith of some.
They on the rock {are they}, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away.

Then cometh Simon Peter following him, and went into the sepulchre, and seeth the linen clothes lie,
Peter said unto him, Lord, why cannot I follow thee now? I will lay down my life for thy sake.
And Jesus saith unto them, All ye shall be offended because of me this night: for it is written, I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered. {offended: or, scandalized, or, shall stumble}

Bread {corn} is bruised; because he will not ever be threshing it, nor break {it with} the wheel of his cart, nor bruise it {with} his horsemen.
