Now when Jesus heard these things, he said unto him, Yet lackest thou one thing: sell all that thou hast, and distribute unto the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me.

Then answered Peter and said unto him, Behold, we have forsaken all, and followed thee; what shall we have therefore?

Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset {us}, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.

Why was not this ointment sold for three hundred pence, and given to the poor?
Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.
Give to every man that asketh of thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask {them} not again.
For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's, the same shall save it.
But rather give alms of such things as ye have; and, behold, all things are clean unto you. {of...: or, as you are able}
And after these things he went forth, and saw a publican, named Levi, sitting at the receipt of custom: and he said unto him, Follow me.
And Jesus said unto him, Foxes have holes, and birds of the air {have} nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay {his} head.
And though I bestow all my goods to feed {the poor}, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.
And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits?
He hath dispersed, he hath given to the poor; his righteousness endureth for ever; his horn shall be exalted with honour.
But let patience have {her} perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.
But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.
