For {it is} evident that our Lord sprang out of Juda; of which tribe Moses spake nothing concerning priesthood.
And he shall pass through the sea with affliction, and shall smite the waves in the sea, and all the deeps of the river shall dry up: and the pride of Assyria shall be brought down, and the sceptre of Egypt shall depart away.
And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become {the kingdoms} of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.

And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots:
And their nobles shall be of themselves, and their governor shall proceed from the midst of them; and I will cause him to draw near, and he shall approach unto me: for who {is} this that engaged his heart to approach unto me? saith the LORD.
And many nations shall be joined to the LORD in that day, and shall be my people: and I will dwell in the midst of thee, and thou shalt know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me unto thee.
And again, Esaias saith, There shall be a root of Jesse, and he that shall rise to reign over the Gentiles; in him shall the Gentiles trust.
He shall have dominion also from sea to sea, and from the river unto the ends of the earth.
And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be glorious. {glorious: Heb. glory}
Behold, I have given him {for} a witness to the people, a leader and commander to the people.
And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth. {corners: Heb. wings}

And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising.

Then said Pilate unto them, Take ye him, and judge him according to your law. The Jews therefore said unto him, It is not lawful for us to put any man to death:
And from thenceforth Pilate sought to release him: but the Jews cried out, saying, If thou let this man go, thou art not Caesar's friend: whosoever maketh himself a king speaketh against Caesar.
For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things {done} in {his} body, according to that he hath done, whether {it be} good or bad.
And said unto him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam, (which is by interpretation, Sent.) He went his way therefore, and washed, and came seeing.
And toward her young one that cometh out from between her feet, and toward her children which she shall bear: for she shall eat them for want of all {things} secretly in the siege and straitness, wherewith thine enemy shall distress thee in thy gates. {young one: Heb. afterbirth}

Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will perform that good thing which I have promised unto the house of Israel and to the house of Judah.
Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner {stone}, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste.
Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews.

And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.

Behold, thou shalt call a nation {that} thou knowest not, and nations {that} knew not thee shall run unto thee because of the LORD thy God, and for the Holy One of Israel; for he hath glorified thee.
These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of {them}, and embraced {them}, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. {in faith: Gr. according to faith}
Then those men, when they had seen the miracle that Jesus did, said, This is of a truth that prophet that should come into the world.

Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow.

And many more believed because of his own word;

Now these {are} the kings that reigned in the land of Edom before {any} king reigned over the children of Israel; Bela the son of Beor: and the name of his city {was} Dinhabah.
Then the king went on to Gilgal, and Chimham went on with him: and all the people of Judah conducted the king, and also half the people of Israel. {Chimham: Heb. Chimhan}
And not for that nation only, but that also he should gather together in one the children of God that were scattered abroad.
These {are} the inheritances, which Eleazar the priest, and Joshua the son of Nun, and the heads of the fathers of the tribes of the children of Israel, divided for an inheritance by lot in Shiloh before the LORD, at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation. So they made an end of dividing the country.
For the promise, that he should be the heir of the world, {was} not to Abraham, or to his seed, through the law, but through the righteousness of faith.

Speak unto the children of Israel, and take of every one of them a rod according to the house of {their} fathers, of all their princes according to the house of their fathers twelve rods: write thou every man's name upon his rod.
And saw heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending unto him, as it had been a great sheet knit at the four corners, and let down to the earth:
And the apostles and brethren that were in Judaea heard that the Gentiles had also received the word of God.
And we declare unto you glad tidings, how that the promise which was made unto the fathers,
And the next sabbath day came almost the whole city together to hear the word of God.
And she had strong rods for the sceptres of them that bare rule, and her stature was exalted among the thick branches, and she appeared in her height with the multitude of her branches.
In the mountain of the height of Israel will I plant it: and it shall bring forth boughs, and bear fruit, and be a goodly cedar: and under it shall dwell all fowl of every wing; in the shadow of the branches thereof shall they dwell.
And I say unto you, That many shall come from the east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven.
Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.
And now I stand and am judged for the hope of the promise made of God unto our fathers:
And he that offered his offering the first day was Nahshon the son of Amminadab, of the tribe of Judah:
And then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven.
As he spake by the mouth of his holy prophets, which have been since the world began:
Then said Pilate unto them, Take ye him, and judge him according to your law. The Jews therefore said unto him, It is not lawful for us to put any man to death:
The rich man shall lie down, but he shall not be gathered: he openeth his eyes, and he {is} not.
And said unto him, Art thou he that should come, or do we look for another?
Howbeit many of them which heard the word believed; and the number of the men was about five thousand.
Whose {are} the fathers, and of whom as concerning the flesh Christ {came}, who is over all, God blessed for ever. Amen.
He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad.
