For the children of Judah have done evil in my sight, saith the LORD: they have set their abominations in the house which is called by my name, to pollute it.
And he brought me to the door of the court; and when I looked, behold a hole in the wall.
And he said unto them, Defile the house, and fill the courts with the slain: go ye forth. And they went forth, and slew in the city.
Then said he unto me, Hast thou seen {this}, O son of man? turn thee yet again, {and} thou shalt see greater abominations than these.
Our holy and our beautiful house, where our fathers praised thee, is burned up with fire: and all our pleasant things are laid waste.

He said furthermore unto me, Son of man, seest thou what they do? {even} the great abominations that the house of Israel committeth here, that I should go far off from my sanctuary? but turn thee yet again, {and} thou shalt see greater abominations.
Then the glory of the LORD departed from off the threshold of the house, and stood over the cherubims.
And of thy garments thou didst take, and deckedst thy high places with divers colours, and playedst the harlot thereupon: {the like things} shall not come, neither shall it be {so}.
Cursed {be} the man that maketh {any} graven or molten image, an abomination unto the LORD, the work of the hands of the craftsman, and putteth {it} in {a} secret {place}. And all the people shall answer and say, Amen.
Give unto the LORD the glory {due} unto his name: bring an offering, and come before him: worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness.
And David said, Solomon my son {is} young and tender, and the house {that is} to be builded for the LORD {must be} exceeding magnifical, of fame and of glory throughout all countries: I will {therefore} now make preparation for it. So David prepared abundantly before his death.
He overlaid also the house, the beams, the posts, and the walls thereof, and the doors thereof, with gold; and graved cherubims on the walls.
