One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day {alike}. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind. {fully persuaded: or, fully assured}
But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.
Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in {his} brother's way.
Ye observe days, and months, and times, and years.
For one believeth that he may eat all things: another, who is weak, eateth herbs.
Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines. For {it is} a good thing that the heart be established with grace; not with meats, which have not profited them that have been occupied therein.
And it shall be the prince's part {to give} burnt offerings, and meat offerings, and drink offerings, in the feasts, and in the new moons, and in the sabbaths, in all solemnities of the house of Israel: he shall prepare the sin offering, and the meat offering, and the burnt offering, and the peace offerings, to make reconciliation for the house of Israel. {peace...: or, thank offerings}
And to offer all burnt sacrifices unto the LORD in the sabbaths, in the new moons, and on the set feasts, by number, according to the order commanded unto them, continually before the LORD:
Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man.
And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath:
For the shewbread, and for the continual meat offering, and for the continual burnt offering, of the sabbaths, of the new moons, for the set feasts, and for the holy {things}, and for the sin offerings to make an atonement for Israel, and {for} all the work of the house of our God.
Forbidding to marry, {and commanding} to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.
{Which stood} only in meats and drinks, and divers washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed {on them} until the time of reformation. {ordinances: or, rites, or, ceremonies}
For before that certain came from James, he did eat with the Gentiles: but when they were come, he withdrew and separated himself, fearing them which were of the circumcision.
Speak not evil one of another, brethren. He that speaketh evil of {his} brother, and judgeth his brother, speaketh evil of the law, and judgeth the law: but if thou judge the law, thou art not a doer of the law, but a judge.
But if any man say unto you, This is offered in sacrifice unto idols, eat not for his sake that shewed it, and for conscience sake: for the earth {is} the Lord's, and the fulness thereof:
For meat destroy not the work of God. All things indeed {are} pure; but {it is} evil for that man who eateth with offence.
Saying, Thou wentest in to men uncircumcised, and didst eat with them.
Howbeit {there is} not in every man that knowledge: for some with conscience of the idol unto this hour eat {it} as a thing offered unto an idol; and their conscience being weak is defiled.
And he said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man.
And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
And whatsoever man {there be} of the house of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn among you, that eateth any manner of blood; I will even set my face against that soul that eateth blood, and will cut him off from among his people.
And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
When I remember these {things}, I pour out my soul in me: for I had gone with the multitude, I went with them to the house of God, with the voice of joy and praise, with a multitude that kept holyday.
Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, These {are} the beasts which ye shall eat among all the beasts that {are} on the earth.
It {shall be} a sabbath of rest unto you, and ye shall afflict your souls, by a statute for ever.
And David said unto Jonathan, Behold, to morrow {is} the new moon, and I should not fail to sit with the king at meat: but let me go, that I may hide myself in the field unto the third {day} at even.
And Nehemiah, which {is} the Tirshatha, and Ezra the priest the scribe, and the Levites that taught the people, said unto all the people, This day {is} holy unto the LORD your God; mourn not, nor weep. For all the people wept, when they heard the words of the law. {the Tirshatha: or, the governor}
