[A Psalm of David.] The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.
But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;
If David then call him Lord, how is he his son?
But to which of the angels said he at any time, Sit on my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool?
Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion. {set: Heb. anointed} {upon...: Heb. upon Zion, the hill of my holiness}
Gird thy sword upon {thy} thigh, O {most} mighty, with thy glory and thy majesty.
For David is not ascended into the heavens: but he saith himself, The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand,
And hath put all {things} under his feet, and gave him {to be} the head over all {things} to the church,

All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and {he} to whomsoever the Son will reveal {him}.
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

He shall subdue the people under us, and the nations under our feet.
But unto the Son {he saith}, Thy throne, O God, {is} for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness {is} the sceptre of thy kingdom. {righteousness: Gr. rightness, or, straightness}
And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all {things} he might have the preeminence. {in...: or, among all}
As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him.

And since the time that I commanded judges {to be} over my people Israel. Moreover I will subdue all thine enemies. Furthermore I tell thee that the LORD will build thee an house.

Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.
Thine hand shall find out all thine enemies: thy right hand shall find out those that hate thee.
And this {is the blessing} of Judah: and he said, Hear, LORD, the voice of Judah, and bring him unto his people: let his hands be sufficient for him; and be thou an help {to him} from his enemies.

Then was the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold, broken to pieces together, and became like the chaff of the summer threshingfloors; and the wind carried them away, that no place was found for them: and the stone that smote the image became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth.
And that day Joshua took Makkedah, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and the king thereof he utterly destroyed, them, and all the souls that {were} therein; he let none remain: and he did to the king of Makkedah as he did unto the king of Jericho.
And I the LORD will be their God, and my servant David a prince among them; I the LORD have spoken {it}.
He shall build me an house, and I will stablish his throne for ever.
Nevertheless my lovingkindness will I not utterly take from him, nor suffer my faithfulness to fail. {will...: Heb. I will not make void from him} {to fall: Heb. to lie}
And when all Israel {saw} that the king would not hearken unto them, the people answered the king, saying, What portion have we in David? and {we have} none inheritance in the son of Jesse: every man to your tents, O Israel: {and} now, David, see to thine own house. So all Israel went to their tents.
It {is} God that avengeth me, and that bringeth down the people under me, {avengeth: Heb. giveth avengement for}
Thine hand shall be lifted up upon thine adversaries, and all thine enemies shall be cut off.
Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?
And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer.
