I say the truth in Christ, I lie not, my conscience also bearing me witness in the Holy Ghost,

Whereunto I am ordained a preacher, and an apostle, (I speak the truth in Christ, {and} lie not;) a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and verity.
For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son, that without ceasing I make mention of you always in my prayers; {with: or, in}
Now the things which I write unto you, behold, before God, I lie not.
As the truth of Christ is in me, no man shall stop me of this boasting in the regions of Achaia. {no man...: Gr. this boasting shall not be stopped in me}
For God is my record, how greatly I long after you all in the bowels of Jesus Christ.
The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
For neither at any time used we flattering words, as ye know, nor a cloke of covetousness; God {is} witness:
Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and {of} a good conscience, and {of} faith unfeigned:
For our rejoicing is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity and godly sincerity, not with fleshly wisdom, but by the grace of God, we have had our conversation in the world, and more abundantly to you-ward.
Again, think ye that we excuse ourselves unto you? we speak before God in Christ: but {we do} all things, dearly beloved, for your edifying.
I charge {thee} before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, and the elect angels, that thou observe these things without preferring one before another, doing nothing by partiality. {preferring...: or, prejudice}
And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him. {assure: Gr. persuade}
The God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which is blessed for evermore, knoweth that I lie not.

Horror hath taken hold upon me because of the wicked that forsake thy law.
Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ.
Do not I hate them, O LORD, that hate thee? and am not I grieved with those that rise up against thee?
Mine eye runneth down with rivers of water for the destruction of the daughter of my people.
He came unto his own, and his own received him not.

Blessed {are ye} that hunger now: for ye shall be filled. Blessed {are ye} that weep now: for ye shall laugh.
The God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which is blessed for evermore, knoweth that I lie not.
For these {things} I weep; mine eye, mine eye runneth down with water, because the comforter that should relieve my soul is far from me: my children are desolate, because the enemy prevailed. {relieve: Heb. bring back}
As for me, I have not hastened from {being} a pastor to follow thee: neither have I desired the woeful day; thou knowest: that which came out of my lips was {right} before thee. {to...: Heb. after thee}
For the hurt of the daughter of my people am I hurt; I am black; astonishment hath taken hold on me.

So being affectionately desirous of you, we were willing to have imparted unto you, not the gospel of God only, but also our own souls, because ye were dear unto us.
So when his fellowservants saw what was done, they were very sorry, and came and told unto their lord all that was done.

For though I would desire to glory, I shall not be a fool; for I will say the truth: but {now} I forbear, lest any man should think of me above that which he seeth me {to be}, or {that} he heareth of me.
