What profit {is there} in my blood, when I go down to the pit? Shall the dust praise thee? shall it declare thy truth?

For in death {there is} no remembrance of thee: in the grave who shall give thee thanks?
For the grave cannot praise thee, death can {not} celebrate thee: they that go down into the pit cannot hope for thy truth.
The dead praise not the LORD, neither any that go down into silence.
Wilt thou shew wonders to the dead? shall the dead arise {and} praise thee? Selah.
I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the LORD.
Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do {it} with thy might; for {there is} no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.

Then he is gracious unto him, and saith, Deliver him from going down to the pit: I have found a ransom. {a ransom: or, an atonement}
They shall bring thee down to the pit, and thou shalt die the deaths of {them that are} slain in the midst of the seas.
Son of man, wail for the multitude of Egypt, and cast them down, {even} her, and the daughters of the famous nations, unto the nether parts of the earth, with them that go down into the pit.
