The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple.
The works of his hands {are} verity and judgment; all his commandments {are} sure.
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

Therefore I love thy commandments above gold; yea, above fine gold.
This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. {have...: or, do wisely}

Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God;

For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.

That by two immutable things, in which {it was} impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us:
Much every way: chiefly, because that unto them were committed the oracles of God.

Who {is} wise, and he shall understand these {things}? prudent, and he shall know them? for the ways of the LORD {are} right, and the just shall walk in them: but the transgressors shall fall therein.
Therefore I esteem all {thy} precepts {concerning} all {things to be} right; {and} I hate every false way.
Keep therefore and do {them}; for this {is} your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the nations, which shall hear all these statutes, and say, Surely this great nation {is} a wise and understanding people.
Thy testimonies {that} thou hast commanded {are} righteous and very faithful. {righteous: Heb. righteousness} {faithful: Heb. faithfulness}
What shall we say then? {Is} the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet. {lust: or, concupiscence}

{Then} will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto thee.
For he established a testimony in Jacob, and appointed a law in Israel, which he commanded our fathers, that they should make them known to their children:
I have not spoken in secret, in a dark place of the earth: I said not unto the seed of Jacob, Seek ye me in vain: I the LORD speak righteousness, I declare things that are right.

I {am} the LORD your God; walk in my statutes, and keep my judgments, and do them;

Who shall tell thee words, whereby thou and all thy house shall be saved.
For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.
Whoso {is} simple, let him turn in hither: {as for} him that wanteth understanding, she saith to him,
They {are} all plain to him that understandeth, and right to them that find knowledge.
Hear; for I will speak of excellent things; and the opening of my lips {shall be} right things.
O ye simple, understand wisdom: and, ye fools, be ye of an understanding heart.
And what nation {is there so} great, that hath statutes and judgments {so} righteous as all this law, which I set before you this day?
Hath walked in my statutes, and hath kept my judgments, to deal truly; he {is} just, he shall surely live, saith the Lord GOD.
And the counsel of Ahithophel, which he counselled in those days, {was} as if a man had enquired at the oracle of God: so {was} all the counsel of Ahithophel both with David and with Absalom. {oracle: Heb. word}
And beheld among the simple ones, I discerned among the youths, a young man void of understanding, {the youths: Heb. the sons}
If thou put the brethren in remembrance of these things, thou shalt be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished up in the words of faith and of good doctrine, whereunto thou hast attained.

Now it came to pass, when they had heard the law, that they separated from Israel all the mixed multitude.
And the king stood by a pillar, and made a covenant before the LORD, to walk after the LORD, and to keep his commandments and his testimonies and his statutes with all {their} heart and all {their} soul, to perform the words of this covenant that were written in this book. And all the people stood to the covenant.
And keep the charge of the LORD thy God, to walk in his ways, to keep his statutes, and his commandments, and his judgments, and his testimonies, as it is written in the law of Moses, that thou mayest prosper in all that thou doest, and whithersoever thou turnest thyself: {prosper: or, do wisely}
But if the ministration of death, written {and} engraven in stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not stedfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance; which {glory} was to be done away:
