Yet for love's sake I rather beseech {thee}, being such an one as Paul the aged, and now also a prisoner of Jesus Christ.

Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech {you} by us: we pray {you} in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.
I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called, {of the Lord: or, in the Lord}

We then, {as} workers together {with him}, beseech {you} also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain.
And {even} to {your} old age I {am} he; and {even} to hoar hairs will I carry {you}: I have made, and I will bear; even I will carry, and will deliver {you}.
Dearly beloved, I beseech {you} as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;
Cast me not off in the time of old age; forsake me not when my strength faileth.
But I beseech {you} the rather to do this, that I may be restored to you the sooner.
The hoary head {is} a crown of glory, {if} it be found in the way of righteousness.
Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and {that} there be no divisions among you; but {that} ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment. {divisions: Gr. schisms}

Are they ministers of Christ? (I speak as a fool) I {am} more; in labours more abundant, in stripes above measure, in prisons more frequent, in deaths oft.
The elders which are among you I exhort, who am also an elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed:
And David said, Is there yet any that is left of the house of Saul, that I may shew him kindness for Jonathan's sake?
And when they had laid many stripes upon them, they cast {them} into prison, charging the jailor to keep them safely:
There went with us also {certain} of the disciples of Caesarea, and brought with them one Mnason of Cyprus, an old disciple, with whom we should lodge.
Now I Paul myself beseech you by the meekness and gentleness of Christ, who in presence {am} base among you, but being absent am bold toward you: {in presence: or, in outward appearance}
Rebuke not an elder, but intreat {him} as a father; {and} the younger men as brethren;

And it shall be, when their fathers or their brethren come unto us to complain, that we will say unto them, Be favourable unto them for our sakes: because we reserved not to each man his wife in the war: for ye did not give unto them at this time, {that} ye should be guilty. {Be favourable...: or, Gratify us in them}
Furthermore then we beseech you, brethren, and exhort {you} by the Lord Jesus, that as ye have received of us how ye ought to walk and to please God, {so} ye would abound more and more. {beseech: or, request} {exhort: or, beseech}
The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them.
Behold, I Paul say unto you, that if ye be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing.
Wherefore we would have come unto you, even I Paul, once and again; but Satan hindered us.
