On the west side {shall be} the standard of the camp of Ephraim according to their armies: and the captain of the sons of Ephraim {shall be} Elishama the son of Ammihud.

Of the children of Joseph: of Ephraim; Elishama the son of Ammihud: of Manasseh; Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur.

And his father refused, and said, I know {it}, my son, I know {it}: he also shall become a people, and he also shall be great: but truly his younger brother shall be greater than he, and his seed shall become a multitude of nations. {multitude: Heb. fulness}

On the seventh day Elishama the son of Ammihud, prince of the children of Ephraim, {offered}:

[To the chief Musician upon Shoshannimeduth, A Psalm of Asaph.] Give ear, O Shepherd of Israel, thou that leadest Joseph like a flock; thou that dwellest {between} the cherubims, shine forth. {of: or, for}

{Of} the sons of Issachar after their families: {of} Tola, the family of the Tolaites: of Pua, the family of the Punites: {Pua: or, Phuvah}

All that were numbered of the camp of Ephraim {were} an hundred thousand and eight thousand and an hundred, throughout their armies. And they shall go forward in the third rank.

On the west side {shall be} the standard of the camp of Ephraim according to their armies: and the captain of the sons of Ephraim {shall be} Elishama the son of Ammihud.

Every man of the children of Israel shall pitch by his own standard, with the ensign of their father's house: far off about the tabernacle of the congregation shall they pitch. {far...: Heb. over against}

Before Ephraim and Benjamin and Manasseh stir up thy strength, and come {and} save us. {come...: Heb. come for salvation to us}

When Ephraim spake trembling, he exalted himself in Israel; but when he offended in Baal, he died.

And he blessed them that day, saying, In thee shall Israel bless, saying, God make thee as Ephraim and as Manasseh: and he set Ephraim before Manasseh.
