But as the days of Noe {were}, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
And Noah went in, and his sons, and his wife, and his sons' wives with him, into the ark, because of the waters of the flood.
For as the lightning, that lighteneth out of the one {part} under heaven, shineth unto the other {part} under heaven; so shall also the Son of man be in his day.
And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth {person}, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly;
And he said unto the disciples, The days will come, when ye shall desire to see one of the days of the Son of man, and ye shall not see {it}.
By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith. {moved...: or, being wary}
By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison;
Hast thou marked the old way which wicked men have trodden?
Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:
And GOD saw that the wickedness of man {was} great in the earth, and {that} every imagination of the thoughts of his heart {was} only evil continually. {every...: or, the whole imagination: the Hebrew word signifieth not only the imagination, but also the purposes and desires} {continually: Heb. every day}
And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them. {both...: Heb. from man unto beast}
I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?
For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.
But as the days of Noe {were}, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,

And every living substance was destroyed which was upon the face of the ground, both man, and cattle, and the creeping things, and the fowl of the heaven; and they were destroyed from the earth: and Noah only remained {alive}, and they that {were} with him in the ark.
And behold joy and gladness, slaying oxen, and killing sheep, eating flesh, and drinking wine: let us eat and drink; for to morrow we shall die.
And they all with one {consent} began to make excuse. The first said unto him, I have bought a piece of ground, and I must needs go and see it: I pray thee have me excused.
Hast thou marked the old way which wicked men have trodden?
For man also knoweth not his time: as the fishes that are taken in an evil net, and as the birds that are caught in the snare; so {are} the sons of men snared in an evil time, when it falleth suddenly upon them.
Because to every purpose there is time and judgment, therefore the misery of man {is} great upon him.
In a moment shall they die, and the people shall be troubled at midnight, and pass away: and the mighty shall be taken away without hand. {the mighty...: Heb. they shall take away the mighty}
And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of {this} life, and bring no fruit to perfection.
And as he reasoned of righteousness, temperance, and judgment to come, Felix trembled, and answered, Go thy way for this time; when I have a convenient season, I will call for thee.
And they went out into the fields, and gathered their vineyards, and trode {the grapes}, and made merry, and went into the house of their god, and did eat and drink, and cursed Abimelech. {merry: or, songs}
Is there {any} thing whereof it may be said, See, this {is} new? it hath been already of old time, which was before us.

And the remnant took his servants, and entreated {them} spitefully, and slew {them}.
Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.
And he called his name Noah, saying, This {same} shall comfort us concerning our work and toil of our hands, because of the ground which the LORD hath cursed. {Noah: Gr. Noe: that is Rest, or, Comfort}
And Adonijah and all the guests that {were} with him heard {it} as they had made an end of eating. And when Joab heard the sound of the trumpet, he said, Wherefore {is this} noise of the city being in an uproar?
And the other issued out of the city against them; so they were in the midst of Israel, some on this side, and some on that side: and they smote them, so that they let none of them remain or escape.
