Son of man, these men have set up their idols in their heart, and put the stumblingblock of their iniquity before their face: should I be enquired of at all by them?

And they shall not come near unto me, to do the office of a priest unto me, nor to come near to any of my holy things, in the most holy {place}: but they shall bear their shame, and their abominations which they have committed.
For the leaders of this people cause {them} to err; and {they that are} led of them {are} destroyed. {the leaders: or, they that call them blessed} {led of: or, called blessed of} {destroyed: Heb. swallowed up}
Hear ye this, O priests; and hearken, ye house of Israel; and give ye ear, O house of the king; for judgment {is} toward you, because ye have been a snare on Mizpah, and a net spread upon Tabor.
For I lift up my hand to heaven, and say, I live for ever.
My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children. {destroyed: Heb. cut off}
The LORD hath sworn by the excellency of Jacob, Surely I will never forget any of their works.
But ye are departed out of the way; ye have caused many to stumble at the law; ye have corrupted the covenant of Levi, saith the LORD of hosts. {stumble at: or, fall in}

Wherefore kick ye at my sacrifice and at mine offering, which I have commanded {in my} habitation; and honourest thy sons above me, to make yourselves fat with the chiefest of all the offerings of Israel my people?
They shall cast their silver in the streets, and their gold shall be removed: their silver and their gold shall not be able to deliver them in the day of the wrath of the LORD: they shall not satisfy their souls, neither fill their bowels: because it is the stumblingblock of their iniquity. {removed: Heb. for a separation, or, uncleanness} {it is...: or, their iniquity is their stumblingblock}

But I have a few things against thee, because thou hast there them that hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balac to cast a stumblingblock before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed unto idols, and to commit fornication.
My hands also will I lift up unto thy commandments, which I have loved; and I will meditate in thy statutes.
I will consume man and beast; I will consume the fowls of the heaven, and the fishes of the sea, and the stumblingblocks with the wicked; and I will cut off man from off the land, saith the LORD. {stumblingblocks: or, idols}
For I say unto you, That unto every one which hath shall be given; and from him that hath not, even that he hath shall be taken away from him.
But take heed lest by any means this liberty of yours become a stumblingblock to them that are weak. {liberty: or, power}
