Now it came to pass in the thirtieth year, in the fourth {month}, in the fifth {day} of the month, as I {was} among the captives by the river of Chebar, {that} the heavens were opened, and I saw visions of God. {captives: Heb. captivity}

And said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God.
Afterwards the spirit took me up, and brought me in a vision by the Spirit of God into Chaldea, to them of the captivity. So the vision that I had seen went up from me.
And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:
And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him {was} called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.
This {is} the living creature that I saw under the God of Israel by the river of Chebar; and I knew that they {were} the cherubims.
Now when all the people were baptized, it came to pass, that Jesus also being baptized, and praying, the heaven was opened,

And saw heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending unto him, as it had been a great sheet knit at the four corners, and let down to the earth:
After this I looked, and, behold, a door {was} opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard {was} as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter.
And he saith unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Hereafter ye shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of man.
Then I arose, and went forth into the plain: and, behold, the glory of the LORD stood there, as the glory which I saw by the river of Chebar: and I fell on my face.
And he said, Hear now my words: If there be a prophet among you, {I} the LORD will make myself known unto him in a vision, {and} will speak unto him in a dream.
And he put forth the form of an hand, and took me by a lock of mine head; and the spirit lifted me up between the earth and the heaven, and brought me in the visions of God to Jerusalem, to the door of the inner gate that looketh toward the north; where {was} the seat of the image of jealousy, which provoketh to jealousy.
In the third year of the reign of king Belshazzar a vision appeared unto me, {even unto} me Daniel, after that which appeared unto me at the first.
And {it was} according to the appearance of the vision which I saw, {even} according to the vision that I saw when I came to destroy the city: and the visions {were} like the vision that I saw by the river Chebar; and I fell upon my face. {when...: or, when I came to prophesy that the city should be destroyed}
