But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judaea, and all {ye} that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words:

Hearken unto me, ye that know righteousness, the people in whose heart {is} my law; fear ye not the reproach of men, neither be ye afraid of their revilings.

Then Paul stood up, and beckoning with {his} hand said, Men of Israel, and ye that fear God, give audience.

Be it known therefore unto you, that the salvation of God is sent unto the Gentiles, and {that} they will hear it.

His brethren therefore said unto him, Depart hence, and go into Judaea, that thy disciples also may see the works that thou doest.
And when they were come in, they went up into an upper room, where abode both Peter, and James, and John, and Andrew, Philip, and Thomas, Bartholomew, and Matthew, James {the son} of Alphaeus, and Simon Zelotes, and Judas {the brother} of James.
Then Paul stood up, and beckoning with {his} hand said, Men of Israel, and ye that fear God, give audience.
And after they had held their peace, James answered, saying, Men {and} brethren, hearken unto me:
And because he saw it pleased the Jews, he proceeded further to take Peter also. (Then were the days of unleavened bread.)
And they gave forth their lots; and the lot fell upon Matthias; and he was numbered with the eleven apostles.
