{A} devout {man}, and one that feared God with all his house, which gave much alms to the people, and prayed to God alway.

Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
And when he looked on him, he was afraid, and said, What is it, Lord? And he said unto him, Thy prayers and thine alms are come up for a memorial before God.
And they said, Cornelius the centurion, a just man, and one that feareth God, and of good report among all the nation of the Jews, was warned from God by an holy angel to send for thee into his house, and to hear words of thee.
But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.
Then Paul stood up, and beckoning with {his} hand said, Men of Israel, and ye that fear God, give audience.
And devout men carried Stephen {to his burial}, and made great lamentation over him.
{Is it} not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh? {cast...: or, afflicted}
And when the angel which spake unto Cornelius was departed, he called two of his household servants, and a devout soldier of them that waited on him continually;
And Crispus, the chief ruler of the synagogue, believed on the Lord with all his house; and many of the Corinthians hearing believed, and were baptized.
And, behold, there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name {was} Simeon; and the same man {was} just and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel: and the Holy Ghost was upon him.
Then the king commanded, and they brought Daniel, and cast {him} into the den of lions. {Now} the king spake and said unto Daniel, Thy God whom thou servest continually, he will deliver thee.
Men {and} brethren, children of the stock of Abraham, and whosoever among you feareth God, to you is the word of this salvation sent.
Who shall not fear thee, O Lord, and glorify thy name? for {thou} only {art} holy: for all nations shall come and worship before thee; for thy judgments are made manifest.
And a certain woman named Lydia, a seller of purple, of the city of Thyatira, which worshipped God, heard {us}: whose heart the Lord opened, that she attended unto the things which were spoken of Paul.
Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which by interpretation is called Dorcas: this woman was full of good works and almsdeeds which she did. {Dorcas: or, Doe, or, Roe}
Good and upright {is} the LORD: therefore will he teach sinners in the way.
And said, Cornelius, thy prayer is heard, and thine alms are had in remembrance in the sight of God.
But the Jews stirred up the devout and honourable women, and the chief men of the city, and raised persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and expelled them out of their coasts.
Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and he shall hear my voice.
And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that {were} on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.
Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, {and} liftest up thy voice for understanding; {liftest...: Heb. givest thy voice}
Blessed {are} they that keep his testimonies, {and that} seek him with the whole heart.
There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name {was} Job; and that man was perfect and upright, and one that feared God, and eschewed evil.
Then had the churches rest throughout all Judaea and Galilee and Samaria, and were edified; and walking in the fear of the Lord, and in the comfort of the Holy Ghost, were multiplied.
So the heathen shall fear the name of the LORD, and all the kings of the earth thy glory.

For it hath pleased them of Macedonia and Achaia to make a certain contribution for the poor saints which are at Jerusalem.
I make a decree, That in every dominion of my kingdom men tremble and fear before the God of Daniel: for he {is} the living God, and stedfast for ever, and his kingdom {that} which shall not be destroyed, and his dominion {shall be even} unto the end.
And when they came to Jesus, they besought him instantly, saying, That he was worthy for whom he should do this:
Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house; and his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did aforetime.
Then hear thou from the heavens, {even} from thy dwelling place, and do according to all that the stranger calleth to thee for; that all people of the earth may know thy name, and fear thee, as {doth} thy people Israel, and may know that this house which I have built is called by thy name. {this...: Heb. thy name is called upon this house}
Be merciful unto me, O Lord: for I cry unto thee daily. {daily: or, all the day}
If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all {men} liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
{It is} good that thou shouldest take hold of this; yea, also from this withdraw not thine hand: for he that feareth God shall come forth of them all.
For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgment; that the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him.
Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou {art} the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day.
And when he came to the den, he cried with a lamentable voice unto Daniel: {and} the king spake and said to Daniel, O Daniel, servant of the living God, is thy God, whom thou servest continually, able to deliver thee from the lions?
Hear thou in heaven thy dwelling place, and do according to all that the stranger calleth to thee for: that all people of the earth may know thy name, to fear thee, as {do} thy people Israel; and that they may know that this house, which I have builded, is called by thy name. {this...: Heb. thy name is called upon this house}
Pray without ceasing.

Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving;
And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven.
Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.
Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.
Then they that feared the LORD spake often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard {it}, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name.
Whoso offereth praise glorifieth me: and to him that ordereth {his} conversation {aright} will I shew the salvation of God. {that...: Heb. that disposeth his way}
Surely his salvation {is} nigh them that fear him; that glory may dwell in our land.
One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity;
He answereth and saith unto them, He that hath two coats, let him impart to him that hath none; and he that hath meat, let him do likewise.
And, behold, {there was} a man named Joseph, a counsellor; {and he was} a good man, and a just:
Who shall tell thee words, whereby thou and all thy house shall be saved.

Therefore when thou doest {thine} alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. {do not...: or, cause not a trumpet to be sounded}

I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.
And he departed thence, and entered into a certain {man's} house, named Justus, {one} that worshipped God, whose house joined hard to the synagogue.
What man {is} he that feareth the LORD? him shall he teach in the way {that} he shall choose.

Thou meetest him that rejoiceth and worketh righteousness, {those that} remember thee in thy ways: behold, thou art wroth; for we have sinned: in those is continuance, and we shall be saved.

Ye shall not therefore oppress one another; but thou shalt fear thy God: for I {am} the LORD your God.

Therefore if the uncircumcision keep the righteousness of the law, shall not his uncircumcision be counted for circumcision?
Will he delight himself in the Almighty? will he always call upon God?
Therefore disputed he in the synagogue with the Jews, and with the devout persons, and in the market daily with them that met with him.
