And I will draw unto thee to the river Kishon Sisera, the captain of Jabin's army, with his chariots and his multitude; and I will deliver him into thine hand.
But the prophet, which shall presume to speak a word in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die.
And that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams, shall be put to death; because he hath spoken to turn {you} away from the LORD your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed you out of the house of bondage, to thrust thee out of the way which the LORD thy God commanded thee to walk in. So shalt thou put the evil away from the midst of thee. {to turn...: Heb. revolt against the LORD}
And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the LORD of hosts, {that} I will cut off the names of the idols out of the land, and they shall no more be remembered: and also I will cause the prophets and the unclean spirit to pass out of the land.
The river of Kishon swept them away, that ancient river, the river Kishon. O my soul, thou hast trodden down strength.
And when they went in to offer sacrifices and burnt offerings, Jehu appointed fourscore men without, and said, {If} any of the men whom I have brought into your hands escape, {he that letteth him go}, his life {shall be} for the life of him.
And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet {are}, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
Cursed {be} he that doeth the work of the LORD deceitfully, and cursed {be} he that keepeth back his sword from blood. {deceitfully: or, negligently}
And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.
And Ahab told Jezebel all that Elijah had done, and withal how he had slain all the prophets with the sword.
Then stood up Phinehas, and executed judgment: and {so} the plague was stayed.

And all the people of the land went into the house of Baal, and brake it down; his altars and his images brake they in pieces thoroughly, and slew Mattan the priest of Baal before the altars. And the priest appointed officers over the house of the LORD. {officers: Heb. offices}
And Moses said unto the judges of Israel, Slay ye every one his men that were joined unto Baalpeor.
And it came to pass, as soon as he had made an end of offering the burnt offering, that Jehu said to the guard and to the captains, Go in, {and} slay them; let none come forth. And they smote them with the edge of the sword; and the guard and the captains cast {them} out, and went to the city of the house of Baal. {the edge: Heb. the mouth}
And he slew all the priests of the high places that {were} there upon the altars, and burned men's bones upon them, and returned to Jerusalem. {slew: or, sacrificed}
That whosoever would not seek the LORD God of Israel should be put to death, whether small or great, whether man or woman.
Then all the people went to the house of Baal, and brake it down, and brake his altars and his images in pieces, and slew Mattan the priest of Baal before the altars.
And Jehu gathered all the people together, and said unto them, Ahab served Baal a little; {but} Jehu shall serve him much.
The priests said not, Where {is} the LORD? and they that handle the law knew me not: the pastors also transgressed against me, and the prophets prophesied by Baal, and walked after {things that} do not profit.

And the king commanded Hilkiah the high priest, and the priests of the second order, and the keepers of the door, to bring forth out of the temple of the LORD all the vessels that were made for Baal, and for the grove, and for all the host of heaven: and he burned them without Jerusalem in the fields of Kidron, and carried the ashes of them unto Bethel.
And I have seen folly in the prophets of Samaria; they prophesied in Baal, and caused my people Israel to err. {folly: or, an absurd thing: Heb. unsavoury}
Then hear thou from heaven, and forgive the sin of thy servants, and of thy people Israel, when thou hast taught them the good way, wherein they should walk; and send rain upon thy land, which thou hast given unto thy people for an inheritance.
And Moab shall be ashamed of Chemosh, as the house of Israel was ashamed of Bethel their confidence.
And to the others he said in mine hearing, Go ye after him through the city, and smite: let not your eye spare, neither have ye pity: {mine hearing: Heb. mine ears}

Behold, all his fellows shall be ashamed: and the workmen, they {are} of men: let them all be gathered together, let them stand up; {yet} they shall fear, {and} they shall be ashamed together.
They bear him upon the shoulder, they carry him, and set him in his place, and he standeth; from his place shall he not remove: yea, {one} shall cry unto him, yet can he not answer, nor save him out of his trouble.
And Samuel said, As thy sword hath made women childless, so shall thy mother be childless among women. And Samuel hewed Agag in pieces before the LORD in Gilgal.
And the bones of Saul and Jonathan his son buried they in the country of Benjamin in Zelah, in the sepulchre of Kish his father: and they performed all that the king commanded. And after that God was intreated for the land.
And Joash said unto all that stood against him, Will ye plead for Baal? will ye save him? he that will plead for him, let him be put to death whilst {it is yet} morning: if he {be} a god, let him plead for himself, because {one} hath cast down his altar.
So Jehu slew all that remained of the house of Ahab in Jezreel, and all his great men, and his kinsfolks, and his priests, until he left him none remaining. {kinsfolks: or, acquaintance}
