Therefore {as} I live, saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, Surely Moab shall be as Sodom, and the children of Ammon as Gomorrah, {even} the breeding of nettles, and saltpits, and a perpetual desolation: the residue of my people shall spoil them, and the remnant of my people shall possess them.

The word of the LORD came again unto me, saying,
As in the overthrow of Sodom and Gomorrah and the neighbour {cities} thereof, saith the LORD, no man shall abide there, neither shall a son of man dwell in it.
{As} I live, saith the King, whose name {is} the LORD of hosts, Surely as Tabor {is} among the mountains, and as Carmel by the sea, {so} shall he come.

Then the LORD rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the LORD out of heaven;

And judgment is come upon the plain country; upon Holon, and upon Jahazah, and upon Mephaath,

And they were haughty, and committed abomination before me: therefore I took them away as I saw {good}.
Thou shalt be for fuel to the fire; thy blood shall be in the midst of the land; thou shalt be no {more} remembered: for I the LORD have spoken {it}.

So that they shall take no wood out of the field, neither cut down {any} out of the forests; for they shall burn the weapons with fire: and they shall spoil those that spoiled them, and rob those that robbed them, saith the Lord GOD.
How shall I give thee up, Ephraim? {how} shall I deliver thee, Israel? how shall I make thee as Admah? {how} shall I set thee as Zeboim? mine heart is turned within me, my repentings are kindled together.
For, behold, I will shake mine hand upon them, and they shall be a spoil to their servants: and ye shall know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me.
And the younger, she also bare a son, and called his name Benammi: the same {is} the father of the children of Ammon unto this day.
But {as} truly {as} I live, all the earth shall be filled with the glory of the LORD.
Let thistles grow instead of wheat, and cockle instead of barley. The words of Job are ended. {cockle: or, noisome weeds}
And he said, Bring me a new cruse, and put salt therein. And they brought {it} to him.
He turneth rivers into a wilderness, and the watersprings into dry ground;
Except the LORD of hosts had left unto us a very small remnant, we should have been as Sodom, {and} we should have been like unto Gomorrah.
And Abimelech fought against the city all that day; and he took the city, and slew the people that {was} therein, and beat down the city, and sowed it with salt.
And behold at eveningtide trouble; {and} before the morning he {is} not. This {is} the portion of them that spoil us, and the lot of them that rob us.
And let that man be as the cities which the LORD overthrew, and repented not: and let him hear the cry in the morning, and the shouting at noontide;
