For the LORD will not forsake his people for his great name's sake: because it hath pleased the LORD to make you his people.
For the LORD loveth judgment, and forsaketh not his saints; they are preserved for ever: but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off.
I say then, Hath God cast away his people? God forbid. For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, {of} the tribe of Benjamin.
My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.
For the LORD'S portion {is} his people; Jacob {is} the lot of his inheritance. {lot: Heb. cord}
{Let your} conversation {be} without covetousness; {and be} content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,
And I will give them one heart, and one way, that they may fear me for ever, for the good of them, and of their children after them: {for ever: Heb. all days}
But Zion said, The LORD hath forsaken me, and my Lord hath forgotten me.
For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
What man {is he that} desireth life, {and} loveth {many} days, that he may see good?
The portion of Jacob {is} not like them: for he {is} the former of all {things}; and Israel {is} the rod of his inheritance: The LORD of hosts {is} his name.
They break in pieces thy people, O LORD, and afflict thine heritage.
I have been young, and {now} am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.
For the Lord will not cast off for ever:
God hath not cast away his people which he foreknew. Wot ye not what the scripture saith of Elias? how he maketh intercession to God against Israel, saying, {of Elias: Gr. in Elias?}
{Thou} whom I have taken from the ends of the earth, and called thee from the chief men thereof, and said unto thee, Thou {art} my servant; I have chosen thee, and not cast thee away.
Behold, God will not cast away a perfect {man}, neither will he help the evil doers: {help...: Heb. take the ungodly by the hand} {come: Heb. shall not be}
And I will bring the blind by a way {that} they knew not; I will lead them in paths {that} they have not known: I will make darkness light before them, and crooked things straight. These things will I do unto them, and not forsake them. {straight: Heb. into straightness}
And he said, If now I have found grace in thy sight, O Lord, let my Lord, I pray thee, go among us; for it {is} a stiffnecked people; and pardon our iniquity and our sin, and take us for thine inheritance.

The lord of that servant will come in a day when he looketh not for {him}, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in sunder, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers. {cut...: or, cut him off}
O continue thy lovingkindness unto them that know thee; and thy righteousness to the upright in heart. {continue: Heb. draw out at length}
{When} the poor and needy seek water, and {there is} none, {and} their tongue faileth for thirst, I the LORD will hear them, I the God of Israel will not forsake them.
And yet for all that, when they be in the land of their enemies, I will not cast them away, neither will I abhor them, to destroy them utterly, and to break my covenant with them: for I {am} the LORD their God.
For Israel {hath} not {been} forsaken, nor Judah of his God, of the LORD of hosts; though their land was filled with sin against the Holy One of Israel.
Considerest thou not what this people have spoken, saying, The two families which the LORD hath chosen, he hath even cast them off? thus they have despised my people, that they should be no more a nation before them.
Then judgment shall dwell in the wilderness, and righteousness remain in the fruitful field.
