Whom I have sent again: thou therefore receive him, that is, mine own bowels:
I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.
For all manner of trespass, {whether it be} for ox, for ass, for sheep, for raiment, {or} for any manner of lost thing, which {another} challengeth to be his, the cause of both parties shall come before the judges; {and} whom the judges shall condemn, he shall pay double unto his neighbour.
The merciful man doeth good to his own soul: but {he that is} cruel troubleth his own flesh.
Now therefore fear ye not: I will nourish you, and your little ones. And he comforted them, and spake kindly unto them. {kindly...: Heb. to their hearts}
And they came unto the children of Reuben, and to the children of Gad, and to the half tribe of Manasseh, unto the land of Gilead, and they spake with them, saying,
And this {is} the manner of the release: Every creditor that lendeth {ought} unto his neighbour shall release {it}; he shall not exact {it} of his neighbour, or of his brother; because it is called the LORD'S release. {creditor: Heb. master of the lending of his hand}
Now God himself and our Father, and our Lord Jesus Christ, direct our way unto you. {direct: or, guide}
And thou shalt remember that thou wast a bondman in the land of Egypt, and the LORD thy God redeemed thee: therefore I command thee this thing to day.
Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear {the guilty}; visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children's children, unto the third and to the fourth {generation}.
