For the priest's lips should keep knowledge, and they should seek the law at his mouth: for he {is} the messenger of the LORD of hosts.

For Ezra had prepared his heart to seek the law of the LORD, and to do {it}, and to teach in Israel statutes and judgments.

If there arise a matter too hard for thee in judgment, between blood and blood, between plea and plea, and between stroke and stroke, {being} matters of controversy within thy gates: then shalt thou arise, and get thee up into the place which the LORD thy God shall choose;
That confirmeth the word of his servant, and performeth the counsel of his messengers; that saith to Jerusalem, Thou shalt be inhabited; and to the cities of Judah, Ye shall be built, and I will raise up the decayed places thereof: {decayed...: Heb. wastes}
Therefore thus saith the LORD, If thou return, then will I bring thee again, {and} thou shalt stand before me: and if thou take forth the precious from the vile, thou shalt be as my mouth: let them return unto thee; but return not thou unto them.
Take heed in the plague of leprosy, that thou observe diligently, and do according to all that the priests the Levites shall teach you: as I commanded them, {so} ye shall observe to do.
Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the LORD of hosts.
Then said they, Come, and let us devise devices against Jeremiah; for the law shall not perish from the priest, nor counsel from the wise, nor the word from the prophet. Come, and let us smite him with the tongue, and let us not give heed to any of his words. {with...: or, for the tongue}
Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Ask now the priests {concerning} the law, saying,
And with them {he sent} Levites, {even} Shemaiah, and Nethaniah, and Zebadiah, and Asahel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehonathan, and Adonijah, and Tobijah, and Tobadonijah, Levites; and with them Elishama and Jehoram, priests.
Then spake Haggai the LORD'S messenger in the LORD'S message unto the people, saying, I {am} with you, saith the LORD.
And my temptation which was in my flesh ye despised not, nor rejected; but received me as an angel of God, {even} as Christ Jesus.
Who {is} blind, but my servant? or deaf, as my messenger {that} I sent? who {is} blind as {he that is} perfect, and blind as the LORD'S servant?
And he shall stand before Eleazar the priest, who shall ask {counsel} for him after the judgment of Urim before the LORD: at his word shall they go out, and at his word they shall come in, {both} he, and all the children of Israel with him, even all the congregation.
And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also. {among: or, by}
My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children. {destroyed: Heb. cut off}

Suffer not thy mouth to cause thy flesh to sin; neither say thou before the angel, that it {was} an error: wherefore should God be angry at thy voice, and destroy the work of thine hands?
Moreover he commanded the people that dwelt in Jerusalem to give the portion of the priests and the Levites, that they might be encouraged in the law of the LORD.
And that ye may teach the children of Israel all the statutes which the LORD hath spoken unto them by the hand of Moses.

And said unto the Levites that taught all Israel, which were holy unto the LORD, Put the holy ark in the house which Solomon the son of David king of Israel did build; {it shall} not {be} a burden upon {your} shoulders: serve now the LORD your God, and his people Israel,

And thou, Ezra, after the wisdom of thy God, that {is} in thine hand, set magistrates and judges, which may judge all the people that {are} beyond the river, all such as know the laws of thy God; and teach ye them that know {them} not.
And Saul said, Let us go down after the Philistines by night, and spoil them until the morning light, and let us not leave a man of them. And they said, Do whatsoever seemeth good unto thee. Then said the priest, Let us draw near hither unto God.
And Urijah the priest built an altar according to all that king Ahaz had sent from Damascus: so Urijah the priest made {it} against king Ahaz came from Damascus.

In the tabernacle of the congregation without the vail, which {is} before the testimony, Aaron and his sons shall order it from evening to morning before the LORD: {it shall be} a statute for ever unto their generations on the behalf of the children of Israel.
And Moses wrote this law, and delivered it unto the priests the sons of Levi, which bare the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and unto all the elders of Israel.
I will get me unto the great men, and will speak unto them; for they have known the way of the LORD, {and} the judgment of their God: but these have altogether broken the yoke, {and} burst the bonds.
And the Levites shall speak, and say unto all the men of Israel with a loud voice,
And it came to pass in the sixth year, in the sixth {month}, in the fifth {day} of the month, {as} I sat in mine house, and the elders of Judah sat before me, that the hand of the Lord GOD fell there upon me.
And honour not his father or his mother, {he shall be free}. Thus have ye made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition.
And they answered, that they could not tell whence {it was}.
And the priest shall look on the plague in the skin of the flesh: and {when} the hair in the plague is turned white, and the plague in sight {be} deeper than the skin of his flesh, it {is} a plague of leprosy: and the priest shall look on him, and pronounce him unclean.
When a man shall have in the skin of his flesh a rising, a scab, or bright spot, and it be in the skin of his flesh {like} the plague of leprosy; then he shall be brought unto Aaron the priest, or unto one of his sons the priests: {rising: or, swelling}
And they answered and said unto Jesus, We cannot tell. And Jesus answering saith unto them, Neither do I tell you by what authority I do these things.

And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he demanded of them where Christ should be born.

The mystery of the seven stars which thou sawest in my right hand, and the seven golden candlesticks. The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches: and the seven candlesticks which thou sawest are the seven churches.
