And the Tirshatha said unto them, that they should not eat of the most holy things, till there stood up a priest with Urim and with Thummim. {Tirshatha: or, governor}
For he put on righteousness as a breastplate, and an helmet of salvation upon his head; and he put on the garments of vengeance {for} clothing, and was clad with zeal as a cloke.
But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.
Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
And thou shalt make the breastplate of judgment with cunning work; after the work of the ephod thou shalt make it; {of} gold, {of} blue, and {of} purple, and {of} scarlet, and {of} fine twined linen, shalt thou make it.
And he made the breastplate {of} cunning work, like the work of the ephod; {of} gold, blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen.
Set me as a seal upon thine heart, as a seal upon thine arm: for love {is} strong as death; jealousy {is} cruel as the grave: the coals thereof {are} coals of fire, {which hath a} most vehement flame. {cruel: Heb. hard}
