The Lord was as an enemy: he hath swallowed up Israel, he hath swallowed up all her palaces: he hath destroyed his strong holds, and hath increased in the daughter of Judah mourning and lamentation.

He hath destroyed me on every side, and I am gone: and mine hope hath he removed like a tree.
I will make mine arrows drunk with blood, and my sword shall devour flesh; {and that} with the blood of the slain and of the captives, from the beginning of revenges upon the enemy.
