Wherefore should the Egyptians speak, and say, For mischief did he bring them out, to slay them in the mountains, and to consume them from the face of the earth? Turn from thy fierce wrath, and repent of this evil against thy people.
They have said, Come, and let us cut them off from {being} a nation; that the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance.
Therefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord GOD; I do not {this} for your sakes, O house of Israel, but for mine holy name's sake, which ye have profaned among the heathen, whither ye went.
Father, glorify thy name. Then came there a voice from heaven, {saying}, I have both glorified {it}, and will glorify {it} again.
Let the priests, the ministers of the LORD, weep between the porch and the altar, and let them say, Spare thy people, O LORD, and give not thine heritage to reproach, that the heathen should rule over them: wherefore should they say among the people, Where {is} their God? {rule over: or, use a byword against}
Lest the land whence thou broughtest us out say, Because the LORD was not able to bring them into the land which he promised them, and because he hated them, he hath brought them out to slay them in the wilderness.
If {it had not been} the LORD who was on our side, when men rose up against us:
And Moses said unto the LORD, Then the Egyptians shall hear {it}, (for thou broughtest up this people in thy might from among them;)
I said, I would scatter them into corners, I would make the remembrance of them to cease from among men:
But I wrought for my name's sake, that it should not be polluted before the heathen, among whom they {were}, in whose sight I made myself known unto them, in bringing them forth out of the land of Egypt.
We have sinned with our fathers, we have committed iniquity, we have done wickedly.
For the LORD will not forsake his people for his great name's sake: because it hath pleased the LORD to make you his people.
Nevertheless he saved them for his name's sake, that he might make his mighty power to be known.
Because the LORD was not able to bring this people into the land which he sware unto them, therefore he hath slain them in the wilderness.
According to thy name, O God, so {is} thy praise unto the ends of the earth: thy right hand is full of righteousness.
O LORD, though our iniquities testify against us, do thou {it} for thy name's sake: for our backslidings are many; we have sinned against thee.

Lest mine enemy say, I have prevailed against him; {and} those that trouble me rejoice when I am moved.
Help us, O God of our salvation, for the glory of thy name: and deliver us, and purge away our sins, for thy name's sake.
And what one nation in the earth {is} like thy people, {even} like Israel, whom God went to redeem for a people to himself, and to make him a name, and to do for you great things and terrible, for thy land, before thy people, which thou redeemedst to thee from Egypt, {from} the nations and their gods?
Not unto us, O LORD, not unto us, but unto thy name give glory, for thy mercy, {and} for thy truth's sake.
For my name's sake will I defer mine anger, and for my praise will I refrain for thee, that I cut thee not off.
And when they entered unto the heathen, whither they went, they profaned my holy name, when they said to them, These {are} the people of the LORD, and are gone forth out of his land.
And the LORD said unto Joshua, Fear not, neither be thou dismayed: take all the people of war with thee, and arise, go up to Ai: see, I have given into thy hand the king of Ai, and his people, and his city, and his land:
Moreover Ruth the Moabitess, the wife of Mahlon, have I purchased to be my wife, to raise up the name of the dead upon his inheritance, that the name of the dead be not cut off from among his brethren, and from the gate of his place: ye {are} witnesses this day.

Draw nigh unto my soul, {and} redeem it: deliver me because of mine enemies.
Thy seed also had been as the sand, and the offspring of thy bowels like the gravel thereof; his name should not have been cut off nor destroyed from before me.
