Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:
Then came his disciples, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the Pharisees were offended, after they heard this saying?
Woe unto you, {ye} blind guides, which say, Whosoever shall swear by the temple, it is nothing; but whosoever shall swear by the gold of the temple, he is a debtor!
Then answered them the Pharisees, Are ye also deceived?
And the Lord said unto him, Now do ye Pharisees make clean the outside of the cup and the platter; but your inward part is full of ravening and wickedness.

And art confident that thou thyself art a guide of the blind, a light of them which are in darkness,

When Jesus heard {it}, he saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
To whom shall I speak, and give warning, that they may hear? behold, their ear {is} uncircumcised, and they cannot hearken: behold, the word of the LORD is unto them a reproach; they have no delight in it.
There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof {are} the ways of death.

And they answered Jesus, and said, We cannot tell. And he said unto them, Neither tell I you by what authority I do these things.
For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.
But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.
Speak not in the ears of a fool: for he will despise the wisdom of thy words.
And I will bring distress upon men, that they shall walk like blind men, because they have sinned against the LORD: and their blood shall be poured out as dust, and their flesh as the dung.
