God {is} not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do {it}? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?
Who {is} a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he retaineth not his anger for ever, because he delighteth {in} mercy.
For my thoughts {are} not your thoughts, neither {are} your ways my ways, saith the LORD.

Now therefore let me alone, that my wrath may wax hot against them, and that I may consume them: and I will make of thee a great nation.

Notwithstanding the children rebelled against me: they walked not in my statutes, neither kept my judgments to do them, which {if} a man do, he shall even live in them; they polluted my sabbaths: then I said, I would pour out my fury upon them, to accomplish my anger against them in the wilderness.

For my name's sake will I defer mine anger, and for my praise will I refrain for thee, that I cut thee not off.

Then should I yet have comfort; yea, I would harden myself in sorrow: let him not spare; for I have not concealed the words of the Holy One.
Thus saith the LORD unto this people, Thus have they loved to wander, they have not refrained their feet, therefore the LORD doth not accept them; he will now remember their iniquity, and visit their sins.
