For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh:

This {is} the ordinance of the law which the LORD hath commanded, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, that they bring thee a red heifer without spot, wherein {is} no blemish, {and} upon which never came yoke:
And he shall take of the blood of the bullock, and sprinkle {it} with his finger upon the mercy seat eastward; and before the mercy seat shall he sprinkle of the blood with his finger seven times.
And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith.
Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, {see that ye} love one another with a pure heart fervently:
{That} prepareth his heart to seek God, the LORD God of his fathers, though {he be} not {cleansed} according to the purification of the sanctuary.
Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.
And thus shalt thou do unto them, to cleanse them: Sprinkle water of purifying upon them, and let them shave all their flesh, and let them wash their clothes, and {so} make themselves clean. {let them shave...: Heb. let them cause a razor to pass over, etc}
And it shall be a perpetual statute unto them, that he that sprinkleth the water of separation shall wash his clothes; and he that toucheth the water of separation shall be unclean until even.

Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.

Then there arose a question between {some} of John's disciples and the Jews about purifying.

And a man {that is} clean shall gather up the ashes of the heifer, and lay {them} up without the camp in a clean place, and it shall be kept for the congregation of the children of Israel for a water of separation: it {is} a purification for sin.
But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water.
And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth. {sanctified...: or, truly sanctified}

And he said unto me, Son of man, thus saith the Lord GOD; These {are} the ordinances of the altar in the day when they shall make it, to offer burnt offerings thereon, and to sprinkle blood thereon.
And after he is cleansed, they shall reckon unto him seven days.
And thou shalt take of the blood of the bullock, and put {it} upon the horns of the altar with thy finger, and pour all the blood beside the bottom of the altar.
And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith.
Which {was} a figure for the time then present, in which were offered both gifts and sacrifices, that could not make him that did the service perfect, as pertaining to the conscience;
And Eleazar the priest shall take of her blood with his finger, and sprinkle of her blood directly before the tabernacle of the congregation seven times:
For on that day shall {the priest} make an atonement for you, to cleanse you, {that} ye may be clean from all your sins before the LORD.
And they shall take of the blood, and strike {it} on the two side posts and on the upper door post of the houses, wherein they shall eat it.
