For this Melchisedec, king of Salem, priest of the most high God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings, and blessed him;

And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he {was} the priest of the most high God.
I will cry unto God most high; unto God that performeth {all things} for me.
Wherewith shall I come before the LORD, {and} bow myself before the high God? shall I come before him with burnt offerings, with calves of a year old? {of a...: Heb. sons of a year?}
Whither the forerunner is for us entered, {even} Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.

And they remembered that God {was} their rock, and the high God their redeemer.
O thou king, the most high God gave Nebuchadnezzar thy father a kingdom, and majesty, and glory, and honour:
And cried with a loud voice, and said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, {thou} Son of the most high God? I adjure thee by God, that thou torment me not.
In Salem also is his tabernacle, and his dwelling place in Zion.
And he was driven from the sons of men; and his heart was made like the beasts, and his dwelling {was} with the wild asses: they fed him with grass like oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven; till he knew that the most high God ruled in the kingdom of men, and {that} he appointeth over it whomsoever he will. {his heart...: or, he made his heart equal, etc}

Who raised up the righteous {man} from the east, called him to his foot, gave the nations before him, and made {him} rule over kings? he gave {them} as the dust to his sword, {and} as driven stubble to his bow. {the righteous...: Heb. righteousness}
The same followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, These men are the servants of the most high God, which shew unto us the way of salvation.
Yet they tempted and provoked the most high God, and kept not his testimonies:
For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote of me.
And he said unto them, These {are} the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and {in} the prophets, and {in} the psalms, concerning me.

But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building;

Art thou greater than our father Abraham, which is dead? and the prophets are dead: whom makest thou thyself?

Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne;
But he whose descent is not counted from them received tithes of Abraham, and blessed him that had the promises. {descent: or, pedigree}
Then said he, These {are} the two anointed ones, that stand by the Lord of the whole earth. {anointed...: Heb. sons of oil}
And Simeon blessed them, and said unto Mary his mother, Behold, this {child} is set for the fall and rising again of many in Israel; and for a sign which shall be spoken against;
