See that ye refuse not him that speaketh. For if they escaped not who refused him that spake on earth, much more {shall not} we {escape}, if we turn away from him that {speaketh} from heaven:

Who serve unto the example and shadow of heavenly things, as Moses was admonished of God when he was about to make the tabernacle: for, See, saith he, {that} thou make all things according to the pattern shewed to thee in the mount.

He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:
Hear instruction, and be wise, and refuse it not.
Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded;
For if ye turn away from after him, he will yet again leave them in the wilderness; and ye shall destroy all this people.
For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them. {turning...: or, ease of the simple}
But if ye turn away, and forsake my statutes and my commandments, which I have set before you, and shall go and serve other gods, and worship them;
And Jesus saith unto him, See thou tell no man; but go thy way, shew thyself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them.
So when all Israel saw that the king hearkened not unto them, the people answered the king, saying, What portion have we in David? neither {have we} inheritance in the son of Jesse: to your tents, O Israel: now see to thine own house, David. So Israel departed unto their tents.
And they shall turn away {their} ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
See that none render evil for evil unto any {man}; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all {men}.
This Moses whom they refused, saying, Who made thee a ruler and a judge? the same did God send {to be} a ruler and a deliverer by the hand of the angel which appeared to him in the bush.
And she hath changed my judgments into wickedness more than the nations, and my statutes more than the countries that {are} round about her: for they have refused my judgments and my statutes, they have not walked in them.
Thou hast heard, see all this; and will not ye declare {it}? I have shewed thee new things from this time, even hidden things, and thou didst not know them.
Be not wroth very sore, O LORD, neither remember iniquity for ever: behold, see, we beseech thee, we {are} all thy people.
They are turned back to the iniquities of their forefathers, which refused to hear my words; and they went after other gods to serve them: the house of Israel and the house of Judah have broken my covenant which I made with their fathers.

While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.
But with whom was he grieved forty years? {was it} not with them that had sinned, whose carcases fell in the wilderness?
Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, {see that ye} love one another with a pure heart fervently:
And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See {thou do it} not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.
Then saith he unto me, See {thou do it} not: for I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the sayings of this book: worship God.
Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling.
Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.
And he went out to meet Asa, and said unto him, Hear ye me, Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin; The LORD {is} with you, while ye be with him; and if ye seek him, he will be found of you; but if ye forsake him, he will forsake you. {to meet...: Heb. before Asa}
I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am {he}, ye shall die in your sins.
How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard {him};
For thus saith the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel; In returning and rest shall ye be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength: and ye would not.
And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.
Beware of him, and obey his voice, provoke him not; for he will not pardon your transgressions: for my name {is} in him.

Beware therefore, lest that come upon you, which is spoken of in the prophets;
I will hear what God the LORD will speak: for he will speak peace unto his people, and to his saints: but let them not turn again to folly.
For I say unto you, That none of those men which were bidden shall taste of my supper.
We then, {as} workers together {with him}, beseech {you} also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain.
{Ye} serpents, {ye} generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell?

To whom he said, This {is} the rest {wherewith} ye may cause the weary to rest; and this {is} the refreshing: yet they would not hear.
Listen, O isles, unto me; and hearken, ye people, from far; The LORD hath called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother hath he made mention of my name.

Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?
Why {then} is this people of Jerusalem slidden back by a perpetual backsliding? they hold fast deceit, they refuse to return.
And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
Whosoever {he be} that doth rebel against thy commandment, and will not hearken unto thy words in all that thou commandest him, he shall be put to death: only be strong and of a good courage.
Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left {us} of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.
And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent;
But God shall wound the head of his enemies, {and} the hairy scalp of such an one as goeth on still in his trespasses.
And it shall come to pass, {that} every soul, which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people.

Hear me now therefore, O ye children, and depart not from the words of my mouth.

This evil people, which refuse to hear my words, which walk in the imagination of their heart, and walk after other gods, to serve them, and to worship them, shall even be as this girdle, which is good for nothing. {imagination: or, stubbornness}
But if ye will not hearken unto me to hallow the sabbath day, and not to bear a burden, even entering in at the gates of Jerusalem on the sabbath day; then will I kindle a fire in the gates thereof, and it shall devour the palaces of Jerusalem, and it shall not be quenched.
And the LORD hath sent unto you all his servants the prophets, rising early and sending {them}; but ye have not hearkened, nor inclined your ear to hear.
Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Go and tell the men of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, Will ye not receive instruction to hearken to my words? saith the LORD.
But if thou refuse to go forth, this {is} the word that the LORD hath shewed me:
Nevertheless, if thou warn the wicked of his way to turn from it; if he do not turn from his way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.
And the remnant of Jacob shall be among the Gentiles in the midst of many people as a lion among the beasts of the forest, as a young lion among the flocks of sheep: who, if he go through, both treadeth down, and teareth in pieces, and none can deliver. {sheep: or, goats}

Not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men, that turn from the truth.
Again, he sent forth other servants, saying, Tell them which are bidden, Behold, I have prepared my dinner: my oxen and {my} fatlings {are} killed, and all things {are} ready: come unto the marriage.
While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.
But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire. {Raca: that is, Vain fellow}
And I beseech you, brethren, suffer the word of exhortation: for I have written a letter unto you in few words.
{Specially} the day that thou stoodest before the LORD thy God in Horeb, when the LORD said unto me, Gather me the people together, and I will make them hear my words, that they may learn to fear me all the days that they shall live upon the earth, and {that} they may teach their children.
And refused to obey, neither were mindful of thy wonders that thou didst among them; but hardened their necks, and in their rebellion appointed a captain to return to their bondage: but thou {art} a God ready to pardon, gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and forsookest them not. {a God...: Heb. a God of pardons}
O that there were such an heart in them, that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments always, that it might be well with them, and with their children for ever!
And the LORD said unto Moses, Thus thou shalt say unto the children of Israel, Ye have seen that I have talked with you from heaven.
Therefore the showers have been withholden, and there hath been no latter rain; and thou hadst a whore's forehead, thou refusedst to be ashamed.
