But as for you, ye thought evil against me; {but} God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as {it is} this day, to save much people alive.
And the patriarchs, moved with envy, sold Joseph into Egypt: but God was with him,

Now there came a dearth over all the land of Egypt and Chanaan, and great affliction: and our fathers found no sustenance.

And Joseph said unto them, Fear not: for {am} I in the place of God?
And again the anger of the LORD was kindled against Israel, and he moved David against them to say, Go, number Israel and Judah.
And David said to Abishai, and to all his servants, Behold, my son, which came forth of my bowels, seeketh my life: how much more now {may this} Benjamite {do it}? let him alone, and let him curse; for the LORD hath bidden him.
So now {it was} not you {that} sent me hither, but God: and he hath made me a father to Pharaoh, and lord of all his house, and a ruler throughout all the land of Egypt.
