And it came to pass at that time, that Abimelech and Phichol the chief captain of his host spake unto Abraham, saying, God {is} with thee in all that thou doest:
And the LORD said unto Joshua, This day will I begin to magnify thee in the sight of all Israel, that they may know that, as I was with Moses, {so} I will be with thee.
Wherefore he called that place Beersheba; because there they sware both of them. {Beersheba: that is, The well of the oath}
And their seed shall be known among the Gentiles, and their offspring among the people: all that see them shall acknowledge them, that they {are} the seed {which} the LORD hath blessed.

Now therefore come thou, let us make a covenant, I and thou; and let it be for a witness between me and thee.
