And the vale of Siddim {was full of} slimepits; and the kings of Sodom and Gomorrah fled, and fell there; and they that remained fled to the mountain.
And they made their lives bitter with hard bondage, in morter, and in brick, and in all manner of service in the field: all their service, wherein they made them serve, {was} with rigour.
And when she could not longer hide him, she took for him an ark of bulrushes, and daubed it with slime and with pitch, and put the child therein; and she laid {it} in the flags by the river's brink.
And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:

If they say, Come with us, let us lay wait for blood, let us lurk privily for the innocent without cause:
Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech.
