From Aroer, which {is} by the brink of the river of Arnon, and {from} the city that {is} by the river, even unto Gilead, there was not one city too strong for us: the LORD our God delivered all unto us:

From Aroer, that {is} upon the bank of the river Arnon, and the city that {is} in the midst of the river, and all the plain of Medeba unto Dibon;
And this land, {which} we possessed at that time, from Aroer, which {is} by the river Arnon, and half mount Gilead, and the cities thereof, gave I unto the Reubenites and to the Gadites.
From Aroer, which {is} by the bank of the river Arnon, even unto mount Sion, which {is} Hermon,
For they got not the land in possession by their own sword, neither did their own arm save them: but thy right hand, and thine arm, and the light of thy countenance, because thou hadst a favour unto them.
Behold, I will make thee a new sharp threshing instrument having teeth: thou shalt thresh the mountains, and beat {them} small, and shalt make the hills as chaff. {teeth: Heb. mouths}
What shall we then say to these things? If God {be} for us, who {can be} against us?
The cities of Aroer {are} forsaken: they shall be for flocks, which shall lie down, and none shall make {them} afraid.
Sihon king of the Amorites, who dwelt in Heshbon, {and} ruled from Aroer, which {is} upon the bank of the river Arnon, and from the middle of the river, and from half Gilead, even unto the river Jabbok, {which is} the border of the children of Ammon;
There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, {so} I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.
O inhabitant of Aroer, stand by the way, and espy; ask him that fleeth, and her that escapeth, {and} say, What is done? {inhabitant: Heb. inhabitress}
And their coast was from Aroer, that {is} on the bank of the river Arnon, and the city that {is} in the midst of the river, and all the plain by Medeba;
And the children of Gad built Dibon, and Ataroth, and Aroer,
And they passed over Jordan, and pitched in Aroer, on the right side of the city that {lieth} in the midst of the river of Gad, and toward Jazer: {river: or, valley}
From Aroer, which {is} by the bank of the river Arnon, even unto mount Sion, which {is} Hermon,

While Israel dwelt in Heshbon and her towns, and in Aroer and her towns, and in all the cities that {be} along by the coasts of Arnon, three hundred years? why therefore did ye not recover {them} within that time?
And they possessed all the coasts of the Amorites, from Arnon even unto Jabbok, and from the wilderness even unto Jordan.
The cities of Aroer {are} forsaken: they shall be for flocks, which shall lie down, and none shall make {them} afraid.
And Laban said, This heap {is} a witness between me and thee this day. Therefore was the name of it called Galeed;

Moab is confounded; for it is broken down: howl and cry; tell ye it in Arnon, that Moab is spoiled,
And the LORD said unto Moses, When thou goest to return into Egypt, see that thou do all those wonders before Pharaoh, which I have put in thine hand: but I will harden his heart, that he shall not let the people go.
Rise ye up, take your journey, and pass over the river Arnon: behold, I have given into thine hand Sihon the Amorite, king of Heshbon, and his land: begin to possess {it}, and contend with him in battle. {begin...: Heb. begin, possess}
And he smote them from Aroer, even till thou come to Minnith, {even} twenty cities, and unto the plain of the vineyards, with a very great slaughter. Thus the children of Ammon were subdued before the children of Israel. {the plain: or, Abel}
And the children of Israel fled before Judah: and God delivered them into their hand.
For it shall be, {that}, as a wandering bird cast out of the nest, {so} the daughters of Moab shall be at the fords of Arnon. {cast...: or, a nest forsaken}
