But he said unto them, Give ye them to eat. And they said, We have no more but five loaves and two fishes; except we should go and buy meat for all this people.
And they did all eat, and were filled: and they took up of the fragments that remained twelve baskets full.
There is a lad here, which hath five barley loaves, and two small fishes: but what are they among so many?
And Jesus took the loaves; and when he had given thanks, he distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to them that were set down; and likewise of the fishes as much as they would.
{Which} when Jesus perceived, he said unto them, O ye of little faith, why reason ye among yourselves, because ye have brought no bread?
But Jesus said unto them, They need not depart; give ye them to eat.
He answered and said unto them, Give ye them to eat. And they say unto him, Shall we go and buy two hundred pennyworth of bread, and give them to eat? {pennyworth: the Roman penny is sevenpence halfpenny}
And he said unto them, How is it that ye do not understand?
And they did all eat, and were filled: and they took up of the broken {meat} that was left seven baskets full.
And his disciples say unto him, Whence should we have so much bread in the wilderness, as to fill so great a multitude?
And they did eat, and were all filled: and there was taken up of fragments that remained to them twelve baskets.
And his disciples answered him, From whence can a man satisfy these {men} with bread here in the wilderness?
And they did all eat, and were filled.
And Boaz said unto her, At mealtime come thou hither, and eat of the bread, and dip thy morsel in the vinegar. And she sat beside the reapers: and he reached her parched {corn}, and she did eat, and was sufficed, and left.
