So kill the passover, and sanctify yourselves, and prepare your brethren, that {they} may do according to the word of the LORD by the hand of Moses.
And Moses went down from the mount unto the people, and sanctified the people; and they washed their clothes.
So the priests and the Levites sanctified themselves to bring up the ark of the LORD God of Israel.
Then they killed the passover on the fourteenth {day} of the second month: and the priests and the Levites were ashamed, and sanctified themselves, and brought in the burnt offerings into the house of the LORD.
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, {which is} your reasonable service.
These likewise cast lots over against their brethren the sons of Aaron in the presence of David the king, and Zadok, and Ahimelech, and the chief of the fathers of the priests and Levites, even the principal fathers over against their younger brethren.
And it came to pass, when the priests were come out of the holy {place}: (for all the priests {that were} present were sanctified, {and} did not {then} wait by course: {present: Heb. found}
And David gathered all Israel together to Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of the LORD unto his place, which he had prepared for it.
Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.
And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;
And {David} made him houses in the city of David, and prepared a place for the ark of God, and pitched for it a tent.

These chief fathers of the Levites {were} chief throughout their generations; these dwelt at Jerusalem.
And he brought in the priests and the Levites, and gathered them together into the east street,
Then Moses said unto Aaron, This {is it} that the LORD spake, saying, I will be sanctified in them that come nigh me, and before all the people I will be glorified. And Aaron held his peace.
And at the dedication of the wall of Jerusalem they sought the Levites out of all their places, to bring them to Jerusalem, to keep the dedication with gladness, both with thanksgivings, and with singing, {with} cymbals, psalteries, and with harps.
At that time the LORD separated the tribe of Levi, to bear the ark of the covenant of the LORD, to stand before the LORD to minister unto him, and to bless in his name, unto this day.
And said unto them, Hear me, ye Levites, sanctify now yourselves, and sanctify the house of the LORD God of your fathers, and carry forth the filthiness out of the holy {place}.
And David spake to the chief of the Levites to appoint their brethren {to be} the singers with instruments of musick, psalteries and harps and cymbals, sounding, by lifting up the voice with joy.
So they brought the ark of God, and set it in the midst of the tent that David had pitched for it: and they offered burnt sacrifices and peace offerings before God.
And his brethren, men of valour, {were} two thousand and seven hundred chief fathers, whom king David made rulers over the Reubenites, the Gadites, and the half tribe of Manasseh, for every matter pertaining to God, and affairs of the king. {affairs: Heb. thing}
Then Solomon spake unto all Israel, to the captains of thousands and of hundreds, and to the judges, and to every governor in all Israel, the chief of the fathers.
Then Solomon assembled the elders of Israel, and all the heads of the tribes, the chief of the fathers of the children of Israel, unto Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of the covenant of the LORD out of the city of David, which {is} Zion.
And they went about in Judah, and gathered the Levites out of all the cities of Judah, and the chief of the fathers of Israel, and they came to Jerusalem.
And in the days of Joiakim were priests, the chief of the fathers: of Seraiah, Meraiah; of Jeremiah, Hananiah;
And I commanded the Levites that they should cleanse themselves, and {that} they should come {and} keep the gates, to sanctify the sabbath day. Remember me, O my God, {concerning} this also, and spare me according to the greatness of thy mercy. {greatness: or, multitude}
Until I find out a place for the LORD, an habitation for the mighty {God} of Jacob. {an habitation: Heb. habitations}
And all the elders of Israel came; and the Levites took up the ark.
And the Kohathites set forward, bearing the sanctuary: and {the other} did set up the tabernacle against they came. {the other: that is, the Gershonites and the Merarites}
And Moses wrote this law, and delivered it unto the priests the sons of Levi, which bare the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and unto all the elders of Israel.
And David gathered all Israel together to Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of the LORD unto his place, which he had prepared for it.
Let us search and try our ways, and turn again to the LORD.
For David, after he had served his own generation by the will of God, fell on sleep, and was laid unto his fathers, and saw corruption: {after...: or, after he had in his own age served the will of God}
And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him:
