Did not Solomon king of Israel sin by these things? yet among many nations was there no king like him, who was beloved of his God, and God made him king over all Israel: nevertheless even him did outlandish women cause to sin.

Dearly beloved, I beseech {you} as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;

But king Solomon loved many strange women, together with the daughter of Pharaoh, women of the Moabites, Ammonites, Edomites, Zidonians, {and} Hittites; {together...: or, beside}

Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand.

A wound and dishonour shall he get; and his reproach shall not be wiped away.

Give not thy strength unto women, nor thy ways to that which destroyeth kings.

The man that wandereth out of the way of understanding shall remain in the congregation of the dead.
