And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and {in} all judgment; {judgment: or, sense}
For if these things be in you, and abound, they make {you that ye shall} neither {be} barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. {barren: Gr. idle}
For this cause we also, since the day we heard {it}, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
Having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by {your} good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation. {whereas: or, wherein}
And let ours also learn to maintain good works for necessary uses, that they be not unfruitful. {maintain...: or, profess honest trades}
Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. {alone: Gr. by itself}
For the administration of this service not only supplieth the want of the saints, but is abundant also by many thanksgivings unto God;
What {doth it} profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?
Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ.
For God {is} not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things {are} honest, whatsoever things {are} just, whatsoever things {are} pure, whatsoever things {are} lovely, whatsoever things {are} of good report; if {there be} any virtue, and if {there be} any praise, think on these things. {honest: or, venerable}
And thus are the secrets of his heart made manifest; and so falling down on {his} face he will worship God, and report that God is in you of a truth.
Likewise, ye wives, {be} in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives;
