For there were that said, We, our sons, and our daughters, {are} many: therefore we take up corn {for them}, that we may eat, and live.

For thou shalt eat the labour of thine hands: happy {shalt} thou {be}, and {it shall be} well with thee.
If ye will not hear, and if ye will not lay {it} to heart, to give glory unto my name, saith the LORD of hosts, I will even send a curse upon you, and I will curse your blessings: yea, I have cursed them already, because ye do not lay {it} to heart.
And Judah said unto Israel his father, Send the lad with me, and we will arise and go; that we may live, and not die, both we, and thou, {and} also our little ones.
And all countries came into Egypt to Joseph for to buy {corn}; because that the famine was {so} sore in all lands.
And he said, Behold, I have heard that there is corn in Egypt: get you down thither, and buy for us from thence; that we may live, and not die.
Lo, children {are} an heritage of the LORD: {and} the fruit of the womb {is his} reward.
Now there cried a certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets unto Elisha, saying, Thy servant my husband is dead; and thou knowest that thy servant did fear the LORD: and the creditor is come to take unto him my two sons to be bondmen.
Wherefore shall we die before thine eyes, both we and our land? buy us and our land for bread, and we and our land will be servants unto Pharaoh: and give {us} seed, that we may live, and not die, that the land be not desolate.
{He that} putteth not out his money to usury, nor taketh reward against the innocent. He that doeth these {things} shall never be moved.
If thou lend money to {any of} my people {that is} poor by thee, thou shalt not be to him as an usurer, neither shalt thou lay upon him usury.
Thy sons and thy daughters {shall be} given unto another people, and thine eyes shall look, and fail {with longing} for them all the day long: and {there shall be} no might in thine hand.
Because I delivered the poor that cried, and the fatherless, and {him that had} none to help him.
