The Pharisees therefore said among themselves, Perceive ye how ye prevail nothing? behold, the world is gone after him.
If we let him thus alone, all {men} will believe on him: and the Romans shall come and take away both our place and nation.
And there went out unto him all the land of Judaea, and they of Jerusalem, and were all baptized of him in the river of Jordan, confessing their sins.

And many resorted unto him, and said, John did no miracle: but all things that John spake of this man were true.
