I {am one of them that are} peaceable {and} faithful in Israel: thou seekest to destroy a city and a mother in Israel: why wilt thou swallow up the inheritance of the LORD?

My soul hath long dwelt with him that hateth peace.

Manasseh, Ephraim; and Ephraim, Manasseh: {and} they together {shall be} against Judah. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand {is} stretched out still.

Wherefore the LORD his God delivered him into the hand of the king of Syria; and they smote him, and carried away a great multitude of them captives, and brought {them} to Damascus. I will early destroy all the wicked of the land; that I may cut off all wicked doers from the city of the LORD.

For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, {and} hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water.

Their webs shall not become garments, neither shall they cover themselves with their works: their works {are} works of iniquity, and the act of violence {is} in their hands.

As a fountain casteth out her waters, so she casteth out her wickedness: violence and spoil is heard in her; before me continually {is} grief and wounds.

Which devour widows' houses, and for a shew make long prayers: the same shall receive greater damnation.
