Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom, pride, fulness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy.

And the LORD said, Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievous;

Go to now, {ye} rich men, weep and howl for your miseries that shall come upon {you}.

But the men of Sodom {were} wicked and sinners before the LORD exceedingly.

And there came two angels to Sodom at even; and Lot sat in the gate of Sodom: and Lot seeing {them} rose up to meet them; and he bowed himself with his face toward the ground;

And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned {them} with an overthrow, making {them} an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly;

Lest {when} thou hast eaten and art full, and hast built goodly houses, and dwelt {therein};

And Lot went out, and spake unto his sons in law, which married his daughters, and said, Up, get you out of this place; for the LORD will destroy this city. But he seemed as one that mocked unto his sons in law.

Then the LORD rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the LORD out of heaven;

As God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah and the neighbour {cities} thereof, saith the LORD; {so} shall no man abide there, neither shall any son of man dwell therein.

They spend their days in wealth, and in a moment go down to the grave. {in wealth: or, in mirth}

And thine elder sister {is} Samaria, she and her daughters that dwell at thy left hand: and thy younger sister, that dwelleth at thy right hand, {is} Sodom and her daughters. {thy younger: Heb. lesser than thou}

And Cain knew his wife; and she conceived, and bare Enoch: and he builded a city, and called the name of the city, after the name of his son, Enoch. {Enoch: Heb. Chanoch}
