And the children of Israel journeyed, and came unto their cities on the third day. Now their cities {were} Gibeon, and Chephirah, and Beeroth, and Kirjathjearim.

And the king went to Gibeon to sacrifice there; for that {was} the great high place: a thousand burnt offerings did Solomon offer upon that altar.
And out of the tribe of Benjamin, Gibeon with her suburbs, Geba with her suburbs, {Geba: also called, Gaba}
And Abner the son of Ner, and the servants of Ishbosheth the son of Saul, went out from Mahanaim to Gibeon.

And it came to pass the same year, in the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah king of Judah, in the fourth year, {and} in the fifth month, {that} Hananiah the son of Azur the prophet, which {was} of Gibeon, spake unto me in the house of the LORD, in the presence of the priests and of all the people, saying,
There was not a city that made peace with the children of Israel, save the Hivites the inhabitants of Gibeon: all {other} they took in battle.
And next unto them repaired Melatiah the Gibeonite, and Jadon the Meronothite, the men of Gibeon, and of Mizpah, unto the throne of the governor on this side the river.
